I currently have a cat named OzzFest. We usually call him Ozzy. He was named about the time my daughter and I went to OzzFest (obviously). Another cat's name is Yikes, and the name suits him to a T because he likes to run out from behind things and scare the bejeezus out of you. Our boxer is Axel...remember Beverly Hills Cop? And Diesel the big Russian Blue got his name because he can stink up the room worse than a diesel engine. I have had (and still have) lots of animals, but those are my favorite pet names out of all of them.

We once got a dingo and aussie cross pup and couldn't decide what to call him.  We just kept saying "here boy" until it morphed into Habo (pronounced hahbo).

My childhood to adult dog's name was Skipper because he would skip when trotting and my current WestieX does the same thing.

My Dachshund/Welsh Corgi mix is named Ravioli.

Not my favorite name, but cute.

We have a cat named Weebles. We got her at 3 days old (so I was doing the bottle thing) and I wanted the other animals to be aware of her existence --- especially the dog. We plopped her little orange fluffy butt on the floor and she swayed like a little drunken sailor, but never once lost her footing. It was a no-brainer...Weebles wobble but they don't fall down :-)

Yeah, we're dorks like that.

I had a white cat named Jesse Jackson and two black cats, Nancy and Ronald Reagan.

Jesse got Nancy pregnant.  That was a little scandal in our house.

It seems that most of our pets have had people names: Randi, Bruce, Christopher, Riley, and Carmen (all cats).  There have also been Smokey (a grey cat) and Starbuck, who I usually call Bucky.

The funniest pet name we ever had, though was when our youngest son, who was about three at the time, named one of the two gold fish that our older son won at an elementary school carnival.  When we asked our three-year-old what we should name the fish, he pointed and said "That One."  I don't remember the name of the other fish.  Sadly, but not surprisingly, That One was doing the back float by the next morning.  The other gold fish lasted about a day longer.

I have a white fluffy cat with a black tail that is named Pokie but we call him Poopie or Poops.  My Black & white that looks like he is wearing a tuxedo is named Bandit but we call him Big Ugly or Big Ug because his head is too small for his body and he has "seal fur".  Not soft and fluffy.  I have 2 rats named Dipsh*t and the other is Dou*hebag.  Not sure which is which though.  It's kinda hard when little kids are around and they want to know their names :)  My cat I talked about earlier on another post was named Figaro, like in Pinnochio.  We called him C.O.B. which was short for Cranky Old Bastard...  We have always had oddball names for our animals.  It's more fun that way!

jf  My Dad's friend had a horse named Bareback.

ok lets dont get into horses..registered horses names can get pretty crazy sometimes..mostly due to the fact your competing with other people with similar bloodlines so crazy twists happen pretty often to get something close to what you want...

one that does come to mind was a sorrel and white gelding out here..his sires name was Cowboy..right after he bred his last mare of the season and she was pronounced in foal..they gelded him...so the breeder named the colt when he was born ..what else

I haven't had many pets, and currently have none. Most of mine have been cats, but I did have one dog. Here are the names

O.C. It stood for Orange Cat. Killed by a Pit Bull

Pee-Pee Kitty. Hit by a car, which spawned one of the "Family funny stories". When I sat Camilla, who was about four, down to tell about the accident, I said "Pie..Pee-Pee Kitty went to heaven". She asked why. I said "Well, she was run over by a car", to which she replied, "What kind of car"? Always the analyitical kid!

Poo-Poo Kitty. Got at the same time as Pee-Pee. Gave her to a family member.

Pester the Cat. A beautiful white Tom cat. He died unexpectedly from unknown causes as a kitten.

Jezzy..The only dog I ever owned. A Dobie/Lab mix with the Lab personality. Never barked unless someting was amiss. never even snapped at anyone. The kids would maul her and when she got tired of it, she would just walk away. Her name was actually Jezabel, because she would always lie on her back with her legs spread! I had to put her down at age 14 due to cancer. I will never own another dog. I can't take losing a family member like that again.

We had a little Appy filly who foaled in 1967, the year Camaros came out.  Her moms name was Kayro and the sire was Cams Stormy...the new little one became Miss Camaro.

The list of others is endless, (dogs) Biff, Scarlet, Sissy, Fanny, Kelly (boxer), BJ, Buddy, Bubba, Mama (cat who was damaged in a lawn mower and dropped deformed and 6 toed cats like popping out sunflower seeds while walking around.)

And numerous long forgotten pets.

We have friends that have some unusal pet names... They have a great dane named Casino and another dog named Starbarx. (They told us they named Starbarx in honor of one of their obsessions, which is Starbucks coffee.) But they call that dog "Starby" for short.

  Neverleft,

I'm just concerned for the condition of your soul.

You don't know what the beck is capable of doing to a mind obviously already compromised. Dude, the beck is a marijuana smoking, poodle kissing, hoop jumping entertainer . Don't go down the path he's leading you down.

Go back to the Duke where it's safe . Look at this one, consider what I'm saying; remember, the Duke did not have to fake cry to get what he needed.

The Duke, like Beck was a good Conservative. He was tough because his mane was Marion. The Duke's motto, like your description of Beck  also fits your Socialist President Obama. Physican, heal thyself.

Currently, I have Buford the Bassett Hound. Although, even though he's been fixed, he could be called hump hound.

v-andy just likes the attention. I bet if he could afford a truck, it  would be raised, have loud exhaust, and have really big tires....

Men like him need that type of compensation for their other "shortcomings".

I know I'll get crap for this from the right, but here goes:

Bill (an orange tabby cat, died 2003)

Clinton (our mini poodle dog, now nearly 17 years old. Got him the day Clinton was inaugurated in 1993).

Rocky (toy poodle, now 12 years old). Sometimes called "Little Rock" because he's all of 6 pounds.

Anyone see a trend here? Next pet may be named Barack.
