California Republicans push immigration legislation

Its about time that California starts to take a serious look at illegal immigration.

Republican lawmakers released a legislative package today intended to crack down on illegal immigration in California and punish companies that hire illegal workers.

The bills would take a number of steps, including eliminating tuition benefits for illegal students.

Another bill asks the Federal Government to reimburse California for the cost of holding illegal immigrants in state prisons.

"I want to be clear. This is not anti-Latino. This is about securing our borders and trying to close loopholes that let other people be employed before our own citizens.

Lawmakers say illegal immigrants cost California taxpayers an estimated $9 billion each year.

This is what we should do with illegals give them no healthcare, no schooling, no drivers licence, no jobs and if i company hires them fine them a couple hundred thousand dollers a head. Also when it comes to illegal criminals say the ones who commit murder since they are not citizens and have to rights send them to the front of the death row line id say 48 hour turnaround from conviction to execution and lethal injection costs way to much money all you need is a rope and a tree hell ill buy the rope. If we were to start doing this i wonder how long it would take before the illegal immigration problem is solved.

America has a long history of awarding illegal aliens for braking our laws............We are kinda like the old lady that has hundreds of cats or dogs....we are crazy.......and out of control.........
It is time for less compassion to criminals that don't belong here and its time that we start to respect our laws.....After all America is a nation of laws...............

The greatest threat America is facing is our own government that refuses to secure our borders for the sake of slave labor benefiting the wealthy. It is the duty of the federal government to secure our borders and enforce immigration laws. We have a "lawless" government demanding ordinary citizens obey the law while politicians ignore and flaunt the laws.

I had noted months ago my worry about how all this would affect food costs and was laughed at by many here. I note in yesterday's (March 25th)  paper in the money section ,how one of the largest growers in the NE is not planting his tomato, pumpkin crop and less of his corn crop this year~ because there are no pickers. He is calling on the government to develop a reliable guest worker program that is easy to use,and that he as a short season grower will qualify for. He planted 2.2 million tomato plants last year.

i have no issue with immigrants, what i do take issue with, is them being able to have all the same benefits as a legal citizen. you want to work and have a nice home and a credit card and school for your kids, learn our ways, learn our language, learn our history, take the test and become a true citizen, legal, social security number and everything!  and the whole slave labor thing is riduculous, they are making at least minimum wage, which is what? 7.75? not bad considering they were probably making about 2 bucks and hour where they came from. i don't think it's very fair my kid will HAVE to know specifically spanish when  he's older to get a job. what if he would rather learn german or italian or something!
