ENORMOUS COST OF ILLEGAL CRIMINAL ALIENS

By Frosty Wooldridge
April 21, 2008
NewsWithViews.com

President Bush brags, “They do the jobs that American citizens won’t do.”

He neglects to say, “Oh, and by the way, for slave wages, social security fraud, identity theft, drunk driving, trashing our schools, hospitals and, oh, I shouldn’t leave out—crime!”

Illegal alien migration into the United States costs American taxpayers $346 billion annually as reported by the National Research Council. While employers of illegal aliens rake-in billions of dollars, the US citizens subsidize what might be called organized “Slavery in 21st Century America.”

Edwin Rubenstein exposes the gargantuan costs of illegal aliens in the National Research Council’s new book: “The New Americans: Economic, Demographics and Fiscal Effects of Immigration.” The Social Contract Winter 2007-08.

Rubenstein said, “Illegal criminal aliens play an increasingly large role in the Department of Justice’s workload and budgetary needs. Criminal aliens are an increasing burden on U.S. prisons. In 1980, federal and state facilities housed 9,000 criminal aliens. By 2004 federal, state and local jails held:

46,000 in federal prisons
74,000 in state prisons
147,000 in local jails

“Between 27 and 29 percent of all prisoners in federal prisons are criminal aliens. More than 60 percent arrive from Mexico while the rest hail from 164 different countries.”

Cost to you? In 2008, Bureau of Prisons calls for $5.4 billion. Because of budget shortfall, 100,000 illegal alien convicts still walk the streets. They prove that crime pays!

Rubenstein said, “The Government Accounting Office recently analyzed the rap sheets of more than 55,000 illegal convicted felons held in prisons. It found:

1, The average criminal alien was arrested for 13 prior offenses.
2, 12 percent were for murder, robbery, assault, and sexually related crimes.
3, Only 21 percent were immigration offenses; the rest were felonies.
4, 81 percent of their arrests occurred after 1990.

“In a word, criminal aliens are not casual lawbreakers. Most are recidivists or career criminals.”

“Doing the jobs that Americans won’t do,” Bush said.

“An overhaul of the FBI’s IT capability is essential for border security,” Rubenstein said. “In 2008, the FBI requested $90.5 million to improve its capabilities for providing identification services for federal immigration and law enforcement agencies.”

Although rarely discussed, human trafficking expands into America like an unfettered virus. Trafficking supports modern-day slavery.

“An estimated 800,000 human beings are trafficked across international borders each year, “Rubenstein said. “More than 17,500 victims are trafficked into the United States annually. A huge 80 percent of them are forced into sexual servitude.”

The DOJ spends $4.8 million and carries 34 positions in the Civil Rights Division’s human trafficking initiative. Your tax dollars at work for something that shouldn’t be going on in the first place if Bush and Congress enforced our immigration laws!

Yet another aspect of this criminal world stems from visa overstay absconders. Federal judges expelled 460,000 illegal aliens via deportation, yet allowed them to go free without follow-up. They remain in country enjoying 30 American cities with ‘sanctuary policy’ that protects them from deportation. We have met the enemy and they are our mayors, governors, president and Congress!

Not mentioned in the report, but mentioned by Newsweek last year, 15,000 MS-13 gang members now operate in 33 states. What do they sell? They provide $130 billion in drugs to our kids and citizens annually. How much do we spend to stop the drug trade? According to www.leap.cc co-founder and retired police officer Howard Wooldridge, American taxpayers spend $6 billion per month on the War on Drugs with little to zero results in the past 37 years. Drugs remain ample, pure and cheaper than in 1971 when the Drug War started under Nixon.

What remains most troubling about this incredible expenditure of our tax dollars? George Bush knows exactly what continues down at the border, but refuses to spend any time or money that would once and for all—stop illegal immigration. George Bush refuses to arrest, prosecute and jail employers of illegal aliens from big companies like Hormel, Tyson, Swift, McDonalds and other fast food companies, roofing contractors and big construction job contractors

Enormous cost?  Nonsense--you can hire them pretty cheap, in fact.

Hey gube, does it bother you that everyone thinks you are a little kooky for posting all these blogs about illegal aliens? You and justcallmetracy need to hook up. She can cry about Leonard Marella and you can cry about Jose the wetback.

I really don't know what the answer is.  If our own government will not arrest these people -- what can we do??  I do not for one minute believe what Pres. Bush says about the illegals doing the jobs that nobody else will do.  That is pure nonsense.  Many teenagers would love to have a summer job and I am sure they would go pick crops if only for the summer.  These people are really not such great workers -- my husband has worked with many illegals at his company.  They are illiterate in all languages -- not just English.  They do not follow directions well.  They take very long coffee breaks in the morning -- sometimes from 6:30 until 9:30 and do not start work until 10 AM when they have clocked in to work at 6:30 -- thereby cheating their employer of 3 hours.  I don't know the situation at other companies, just know about my husband's company.  He was a supervisor there until last year when he took an early retirement.   The frustration of trying to teach these people anything was too much for him.  His nerves were shot and could not eat or sleep from his frustration.  So, he retired last year, now he feels much better.  Supposedly these illegal immigrants employed at his former company cost their company a tremendous amount in damage to machinery, theft of merchandise, loss of productivity, etc.   This is an honest account of what is like to work with illegal immigrants.

OLD Blue; I kinda make the same observation as you: Chico; thats funny...what a great trap, your insight is always exceptional:  Soxford;  there will always be a debate about illegals doing jobs that nobody else will do.  I doubt it very much that today's teen agers will pick cotton.  But what you write is not fact, it is hearsay, you even admit it by saying it's what your husband has told you.  But even worse, your husband and company were part of the problem.  They hire "illegals"; isn't that against the law?  Maybe your husband knew what he was condoning and what his company was doing that lead to his deteriation in health.  If the company lost money in trying to make money in that illegal way, they deserved what they got.  Things that make you go hummm.

Don't get me wrong galvandr, I have no doubt that our kids today won't do the jobs the illegals do. And they're gettin worse every day.

We were diggin out some pipe one day and one of the boys said something to the effect of........ just get one of those Mexicans to do it............

Man, I was never so PO'd in my life......... I told that lazy a** kid in no uncertain terms what for...... funniest part is the kid is of course part Mexican himself........

We've partially made our bed in this country....... we've made life so good for our kids (so they wouldn't have to do what we did) we've damn near ruined em....... and we make it so easy for illegals to come across and businessmen pay em cash so they can pad their own bottom line...... its got to stop.

I've got no problemo with the Mexicans for the most part......hard damn workers......... but we as Americans, of whatever ethnicity, better realize its not a racial or ethnic thing........its a sovereign thing......... if we don't protect our sovereignty, we will lose it.......

And it may not be to Mexico........ could be to any group that wants to take it from us...... and it will most likely be from the inside..... not outside ....

now, have a field day with that one Gassed Light..................

galvandr:  Why don't you call President Bush and tell him it is against the law to hire illegals.  I don't think he knows this.  Or he is ignoring the whole problem.  So, according to your logic, it is OK for illegals when hired to steal from their companies and not work.  Very interesting.  Maybe because of your logic, that is why so many of them are criminals.  So why don't you run for office so you can tell our legislatures that it is against the law to hire illegals.  I don't think they know that, because nobody is doing anything about it.   So, according to your logic, illegals have the right to vandalize their company, steal from them and do any criminal activitty they wish.  Well, what about all the domestic workers, which many rich people hire and even middle class families have domestic help.  So, should I report these people to the authorities.  Of  course following Bush's example, I doubt anyone is going to do anything about it.  So there you have it.

Chico:  You are so very right -- most of our kids are very lazy.  We have made it too easy for them.  Also you are right about the insiders taking our country away from us.  We just are too soft and tolerant of bad behavior from many people.  We still let anyone come into our country -- both legally and illegally.  I think basically it is our gutless leaders who turn their heads and look the other way,  They simply do not want to deal with illegal immigration.  Like I said to garlandr, Bush cannot be bothered with illegal immigration.  He would rather travel across the world -- his last chance for a vacation on the people.  He certainly is not in the least concerned about our economy.  Took him forever to address the issue about foreclosures -- until thousands and thousands across the country lost their homes to bad loans.   OH WELL -- This is really futile and a waste of time and my energy to talk about this administration.  Maybe the next one will be better.  We can only hope!!!!!

sox, how many of these young anglo kids runnin around with hats askew, pants below BC, tats & peircings aplenty, cell phone glued to eardrum, would even think of lowerin themselves to get out and do what a bracero (illegal alien these days) does?

Damn few I'll tell ya............

Yeah, we've got a problemo here thats deeper than just the illegals comin across, most of em to do a hard day's labor for min wage cash........

We need ta start by makin businessmen quit payin cash..... cut checks and 1099's if over $750 (and it usually is), get these kids back to learning ta work for their discretionary (for tats, piercings, cell phones, etc.) cash, quit moving cos. offshore ta beat taxes (many of which shouldn't be there in first place), secure the borders for real, and for all -- (and most of all) enforce our laws already on the books!

It is illegal to be in this country with no green card, visa, etc. and it is just as illegal to hire people to work for ya that don't have these. Pay em a little more, you won't even have ta check docs if ya cut a check and talk 1099's and reporting exps to IRS........ trust me.......

We've got blame to go all around on this issue. Just blamin Mexicans is as big a farce as bein to lazy ta go out and dig that ditch yerself (or make yer kids do it)

We just need ta get real in this country. You can't bitch about illegals then pay some Messkin gardner ta do yer lawn for $50 per month on half an acre, especially if he insists on cash! Wake up people! Smell the tequila laced java!

Sox, if the next administration is a Democrat, it will be worse. Ignoring the problme is one thing (not good) but trying to  "fix" it with more regulation, more taxation, more govt intervention -- will spell disaster!

Wait and see. POTUS Obama will kill free enterprise as we know it! And you can take that to the bank (even Well Fargo)!

Hey Chico:  You are so right  on the money.  I agree with everything you say.  My son-in-law is a building contractor.  He has a crew of about 4 or 5 men -- yes they are Mexicans, but not illegals as far as I know.  He now has a payroll service and cuts the checks through them.  They must have SS# to work for him.  So, no I doubt that he hires illegals.  He does beautiful work and his crew is very hard-working and really love working for Doug.  I have a blog about him on my profile.  He is the one who was in hospital for brain surgery.  Well he is up and running now.  Doing  just great I am happy to say.

You know I had another post here about my husband's former company.  Well I was wrong -- they do not hire illegals.  You must have a SS# which you must verify as legit.  If you are caught with false ID, you are automatically fired.   The lazy employees are citizens and legal to be in country.  That is probably why they are lazy and do bad work.  Some are anglos and some are mexicans.  Not that it makes any difference -- lazy can be any ethnic group.   Anyway, like I said before my husband does good work and is very hard-working.  He just could not handle his job anymore as a supervisor over shiftless and lazy men.  He took an early retirement and feels much better now.  I just don't understand why a company would put up with these employees and would rather lose a man who gave them 15 years of hard work.  Is this what our future is going to look like????

Chico:  you talk about working for Tats and cell phones.  That kind of made me laugh.  My oldest grandson has a cell phone already (He is only 10-years-old).  His mom and dad make him work around house to pay for cell phone.  He goes with his dad and works at job sites sometimes.  Then he mows my yard once a week.

He already has a girlfriend -- well at that age they just talk in class and go to recess together.  My daughter is not too thrilled about this.  These kids are growing up way too fast.  I told him he has plenty of time for girlfriends -- just enjoy being a kid first.

But getting back to original subject -- I believe that kids should work for what they have.  Don't just give them everything they want.  My daughter had to do work at home.  She worked at Carl's Jr when she was only 16-years-old to pay for her gas and car payment.  She stayed with that job for about 1 1/2 years.  Then she went to college and now has teaching credentials for Math.  I am glad that the grandkids are being taught to work for their spending money.  This is the best way for kids to grow up -- my Dad would not give me a dime unless I worked for it.  Even after my daughter was born, my Dad made me go back to work and said if I went on Welfare, I could not live in his house.  I used to think how mean he was, but you know he just wanted me to be strong and pay  my own way.

Well have to go to work now.  Chico this was very interesting talking to you.  Will have to do this again sometime.

got a gkid wif cell phone. gramma took it away. he's maddern a nest of muddobbers!

no tats or piercings yet (that I know of)

wait'll that happens

I think mebbe the wrath of gramma may surpass the expense and pain of the tat or piercing by enough pain units to stave that off fer awhile................ (I know it would me)

Sox, I don't even haveta chk SS#'s, W-4's, green cards, etc. That's a businessman's canard IMO.

Once I mention checks cut so I can write off exp, 1099's, etc. and they start gettin squirrely (I've had em come up with more creative excuses fer needin cash money than you can imagine) I go elsewhere............

Its real simple really. Its just that it costs a little more ta get yer work done............
