luvbryan1 - > I have had it! -> LEON Anderson's MURDER
LEON Anderson's MURDER

I have had it with ignorant people posting their racist and hateful crap about the murder of Leon Anderson Jr. First of all you shouldn't believe half of the things the news reports but I know countless people that have heard news stories that were complete B.S.! Second of all if you weren't there you do not know the facts and just because they said he shot first how do we really know! He was obviously being harassed by the police like so many other young black males! I have had it with racist idiotic people! Yes he had been to jail before does that mean he deserved to have his lfe taken? Yes he may not have had the best record but do you know him? Do you know he had children that loved him and adored him? Do you know what made him happy or sad or what his dreams were for improving his life? I am so tired of the harrassment and abuse that black males are being subjected to!

I wan't there, but since one of the officers took a slug to the chest and another to an artery in his leg, I have to ask:

1. Why did he run?

2. Why did he have a gun on himself? Did he had a CCW permit?

Leon Anderson, Jr. wasn't a "young black male".  He was a grown black man on parole.  As a matter of point, he was darn near middle aged.  It's the PAROLE part you all don't seem to understand.  Maybe they should give classes in prison before inmates sign the agreement.  That way "Potential Parolees" have no questions about their lack of rights while ON PAROLE.

Bakersfield woulr be alot safer if we banned Parolees and Illegal Immigrants!

Parolees with guns AND a long Gang Affiliation......................

posted by SoCaMuscle on Feb 18, 2008 at 02:49 PM

timec - he was a parolee. why did he have a gun?

posted by tonyh on Feb 18, 2008 at 02:50 PM

"JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE ON  PAROLE DOES NOT GIVE THE "GANG TASK " A RIGHT TO HARASS YOU."

Actually, it does....................

Being paroled is actually being let out of Prison early (before you have completed your sentence). In order to be let out early, you have to sign away a lot of your rights and agree to allow this "HARASSMENT" among other things. If you can't make a deal in good faith and keep your end of the bargain, you should at least be honest enough to just cool your jets behind bars until your time is served. PAROLE doesn't mean that you're done serving your time.

GANG MEMBERS ARE NOT STUPID...THEY WOULD NEVER SHOT AT THE POLICE.

timec were do you get your information. Gang members are stupid people most never finished high school. I guess it takes some brains to sell crack.

posted by tchudilowsky on Feb 18, 2008 at 03:12 PM

If they were actually smart they would not be in a gang. They would be productive, decent people who would be able to think and do on their own.

Gang members are cowards who need the others to back them because they are wimps. They carry guns because they want trouble.

You must be kidding to say they are not completely stupid!

I do not know the facts of the case.I do know how it feels to lose a child.I am sorry for the family.

My eldest left this earth with many who felt he had done them wrong,so I can also understand~just a tiny bit~ of what all this outrage directed at him  must feel like.I wish the family strength to get through this time.I hope for a better future for us all, most especially for those children left without a father.

timec - last time I checked, one officer took a round to his vest and one in his leg. This officer is still in the hospital.....  I assume Leon didn't THROW the rounds at the officer.....

"I assume Leon didn't THROW the rounds at the officer....."  Good one !

Tony is exactly right about the terms and condition of parole..or probation.  You are not allowed to carry or own a firearm, you rare not nllowed to go in bars, you are not allowed to hang out with other known felons.  People do not take their power away from them nor their freedom.  They gave those up when they made the decision to break the law.  They gave up the right to wander around freely without anyone keeping an eye on them when they made the decisions to live a criminals life.

As for probation of parole officers doing the "harrassing" (ie watching) do you have any idea how many clients each officer has on their caseloads?  All this arm chair quarterbacking by people who "know somone on parole" " or "talked to someone on parole" need to do some ride alongs or volunteer to work inside the system to see how it really works.  Probably 95% of my clients were on probation and some on both parole AND probation so I got very familiar with the requirement of completing a successful parole....It did NOT include hanging out with the homies in the old neighborhood or carrying a waepon.

As always, the stories abound after a shooting like this but to call it murder is a real stretch.  I guarantee you one thing, if Mr. Anderson had been white, we wouldn't be having this discussion because everyone, Black or White whould be saying  "yeah..he shot at the officer and got shot down dumb A.. He should have known better."  The fact that some are pulling the racial card is the only reason there's any discussion at all.

posted by NancyII on Feb 18, 2008 at 05:22 PM

AND..while we're on this subject.  Leon had a mother, family, people who loved him?    Do you think that this parolee thought about the officers children and family when he shot at the officer?  Didn't seem to bother HIM that he would be taking someone away from his family now did it?  The difference is that Leon had a choice, he gave the officer no choice.

Two years ago today, Perry Robinson, a 15 year old boy was gunned down by a person many believe was a gang member.  Perry Robinson's killer has never been found.  Perry Robinson deserves the outrage wasted on Leon Anderson.

posted by dgrealish on Feb 18, 2008 at 07:11 PM

Cut and paste? Moi? Sorry, you've got me confused with someone else.  I saw this on the news tonight and thought the LACK of outrage over his death was ironic.

posted by dgrealish on Feb 18, 2008 at 07:22 PM

If I'm not mistaken, this young man, Perry Robinson, did some "Anti-Gang" stuff in his short life.  Talk about irony!

posted by luvbryan1 on Feb 18, 2008 at 08:20 PM

I am very educated on the parole system but may also say did they ever say why they confronted him in the first place! No you know why? Because they saw him standing with a group of black guys! Are black men not allowed to hang out in public anymore? If I have a son am I gonna have to raise him to hang out with his friends indoors so he wont get harassed by the police! I really do not believe he shot at the police first...not for one minute...

posted by luvbryan1 on Feb 18, 2008 at 08:23 PM

Not every one that is in a gang is stupid! I believe that gangs are very stupid but some young men grow up and their parents are all screwed up and the gang is like a family to them....people are always so quick to judge but stop and think for a minute!

posted by OldBlue56 on Feb 18, 2008 at 08:25 PM

luvbryan1, you told me you are a nurse and you are not an idiot. If that is the case, do you know that typing "they're racist", like you did above, is really stupid? It's "their racist". Or is that the ebonics way to write it? I'm just axing.

posted by luvbryan1 on Feb 18, 2008 at 08:27 PM

How do you know that he really did shoot first? Were you there? There u guys go believing everything the crooked cops and the news report.. Why would he shoot at a cop knowing that they are trigger happy! The cops said he shot first but how do we really know? Not all cops are truthful!

posted by OldBlue56 on Feb 18, 2008 at 08:28 PM

luvbryan1, what you are saying speaks volumes about you.... So typical for your kind.

posted by luvbryan1 on Feb 18, 2008 at 08:31 PM

First of all if you say you've never had a typo you are lying to me and yourself! I am very educated and I probably speak better than you. You are so ignorant that you are a waste of time to even talk to. Instead of putting down black people maybe you should educate yourself and go to church while you're at it!! If you knew me you would know that I speak very well and I am highly educated you moron!

posted by ChicoEsquela on Feb 18, 2008 at 08:39 PM

somehow I doubt those are just  "typos"  luv

somehow

posted by dgrealish on Feb 18, 2008 at 08:41 PM

Where is the indignation for Perry Robinson?  Why can't you work up a little anger over a 15 year old boy, who was anti-gang violence and was shot down while riding his bicycle?  His killer, an alleged gang banger is still out there after two years, and no one wants to talk!  Yet, a gang banger is shot in a shoot out with a cop, and y'all can't shut up!

posted by luvbryan1 on Feb 18, 2008 at 08:41 PM

So typical for my kind? What the hell is that supposed to mean?

posted by luvbryan1 on Feb 18, 2008 at 08:44 PM

I totally feel for the family of Perry Robinson. God bless them. The issue that I chose to write about at this time is Leon Anderson because I know a lot of his close friends....My issue is not only this case. I have witnessed harassment by the cops on people that absolutely did not deserve it and I'm tired of it!

posted by dgrealish on Feb 18, 2008 at 08:52 PM

You mean like harassing them, wanting to know who knew what about Perry Robinson's murder?   You see, the reason that investigation can't move forward is the people who know won't talk.  But here, we have a whole lot of people who want to talk whether they know anything or not.  That's nearly as constructive in an investigation as no one talking.

posted by OldBlue56 on Feb 18, 2008 at 08:56 PM

So right Chico. To type THEY'RE vs. THEIR is not a typo. It's called ignorance.

And what I mean by "your kind" should be obvious, if you are so smart. If you have to keep shouting how you are black, educated, employed, ect, you are obviously trying to convince someone, maybe yourself, of some shortcomings.

Oh, and do you know when Leon's funeral is? I have a whole sack of empty beer cans I want to toss on his coffin, as a sign of respect, of course...

posted by luvbryan1 on Feb 18, 2008 at 08:57 PM

I have no problem with police investigating crimes! I have a problem with police harassin gblack males that are  hanging out with their friends or family. It has happened to my BF on several occasions! Why is it ok for police to stop people or harass people because they are standing in a damn group! That is my issue! My GOD all he was doing that night regardless of his past was hanging in a damn group of his friends! Since when was that a parole violation!!! They didn't say he was hanging out with other gang members!

posted by luvbryan1 on Feb 18, 2008 at 09:00 PM

The only words I have for you are three "God Bless You". You are very ignorant. And if I'm so stupid and such a nigger which is probably what you want to call me then stop looking at my profile and get a life!

posted by dgrealish on Feb 18, 2008 at 09:02 PM

When on parole, they are not allowed to associate with other gang members.  You must understand that.  Approaching them when they are in the company of other gang members is not harassment, it is law enforcement.  You need to understand that..  "Hanging out" could also be a violation of parole.  If your BF is on parole, maybe it's time you checked out his parole agreement.  It could be enlightening

posted by ChicoEsquela on Feb 18, 2008 at 09:03 PM

"hanging"  with a loaded gun, luv!

posted by dgrealish on Feb 18, 2008 at 09:08 PM

BTW, where they're doing their hanging out could be a determining factor as well.  It could be that their "hanging out" is also "loitering", which in itself is against the law.

posted by luvbryan1 on Feb 18, 2008 at 09:14 PM

Whether he was a former or present gang member! Hello reformed gang members still need protection! It would have been stupid for him to walk around without one! I know reformed gang members and just because you don't do it anymore does not mean that people are not out to kill you because they think you stii are!

posted by luvbryan1 on Feb 18, 2008 at 09:18 PM

Like I said! If he was hanging out with other gang members that would be a different story about them confronting him but I have not heard ANY news reports saying such! They have only said he was hanging in a group! That is not a parole violation! Associating with OTHER known gang members is! When you are on parole it does not mean that you have to walk and stand by yourself all day!

I don't carry a gun

not on my person

I could

but I don't

usually have one in whatever rig I'm in

I'm not a trained police officer

I avoid people and situations that might require me to be armed

its not my job

I learned something in Catholic school

AVOID THE OCCASION OF SIN

Lil Nubby would have done well to have adopted this priciple

This thug has gotten more attention from the TBC then he deserves. I find it hard to believe that any one really care about a low life drug dealing piece of dirt. I think people like luvbryan are made up names to keep this crap going. Leon has had his 15 minutes of fame. Hes dead now.

posted by dgrealish on Feb 18, 2008 at 09:31 PM

Good call gube.   I'm with you.

posted by luvbryan1 on Feb 18, 2008 at 09:39 PM

Well your blessed to have had such a charmed life as I ! I have never done drugs or performed any illegal activities I was even employed at Wasco state prison for awhile until I quit! But that doesn't mean I do not understand that not everybody grew up like me with the protection and love and knowledge that the "gang" is not a good thing. To some people that's all they knew and they have regrets and just because they have chosen to reform they still know they need to protect themselves and their offspring

posted by luvbryan1 on Feb 18, 2008 at 09:45 PM

A low life piece of dirt? Wow so you knew him personally? Who are you to make judgements on someone you didn't know? Did you know his children and his family? Did you know that he might have been thinking of how to improve his life!  Are you perfect? something tells me you're probably not. How would you feel if someone called your friend or family member a piece of dirt? You should be ashamed of yourself

posted by luvbryan1 on Feb 18, 2008 at 09:50 PM

Unless you are very sure that if you were to die today that you would go to heaven maybe you should refrain from making judgements on other people's lifes and focus on saving your own souls!

luvbryan1  --  There, Their, They're,  I think we all mess them up once in a while. I know I do. But even though these folks can be judgemental and racist and downright mean at times, they're making a good point. I wish you would try to take an unemotional look at this  -- as if you didn't even know the "young man".  Stop stereotyping the cops as well as bangers, - just the facts Ma'm

posted by luvbryan1 on Feb 18, 2008 at 10:22 PM

I am not stereotyping I'm going off what I have witnessed in the past year to people very close to me. I'm shocked! I can't beleive how corrupt this world is! Ut makes me physically ill! He was shot in the face NINE TIMES  after he was tazed to the ground! What excuse do they have for that? This whole thing is totally fishy to me...

posted by luvbryan1 on Feb 18, 2008 at 10:29 PM

There is no excuse for them shooting him in the face 9 times AFTER he was tazed1

posted by dcs217 on Feb 18, 2008 at 10:50 PM

You ever see how the cops "overeact " when they finally stop a high speed chase. Thats adreniline , you got to expect it.

There may be a little fishiness in Denmark, but the facts of the case are really against Leon, and thats all we have to go by.

If you had some legitimate details of corruption, of targeting or setting him up, I just  didn't see them. And still he was not exacly being prudent while on parole. The whole thing sounds horrible and I wish it never happened. And I feel sorry for you. And I know that you know things and saw things that just weren't right. And I hope you can grieve in peace and get rid of all bitterness and anger. God bless you.

luv where do you get he was shot in the face 9 times?

posted by NancyII on Feb 18, 2008 at 11:12 PM

Your words..."I really do not believe he shot at the police first...not for one minute..."

Your words..."There is no excuse for them shooting him in the face 9 times AFTER he was tazed1"

If that's so, just when did the officer get shot?  AFTER Leon was tazed and shot?

Did you take logic in your quest for higher education?

posted by gube on Feb 18, 2008 at 11:15 PM

Was he shot in the face 9 times? there seems to be alot of miss information.
