groups, clubs and joining up!
Anyone know of a good club/organization  for ladies to join? Married or single, middle aged? You know I find there is so much out there for senior citizens, but I am not finding much for middle aged females to hook up , or females and males , unless you hang out at a bar or bowl. I don't want to do either. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If you belong to a club/organization that you can recommend, please do.

I don't know if this'll be much help, but taking a College class or two (day or night) has always been a great way to meet people and establish a network with mutual interests. Either Cal State or B.C., it doesn't matter. You'll meet people of all ages with a wide range of interests. I've been married with kids for a long time, but this seems to be something that lasts through the ages.

Good Luck.

I found the love of my life at match.com

Lots of information in profiles. Plenty to choose from. Very safe because you control what information you impart and if, when and where you meet. And men like women with rosey cheeks.

I'd second the suggestion of taking a class.  Nothing keeps the middle ages away like learning something you've always been interested in, but never had the time for.  And the November election is coming up--have you considered volunteering for your party?

.

If you take Steve up on his suggestion, use your blog profile photo by the way.  I smile every time I see it--great pic!

PS--I assume you're already in the Scottish Society...

I don't know if you're interested in animals but the shelters always need volunteers and I see a lot of young people working at places like SPCA and CALM.  That's a good way to meet people and network.  There's also a list of orgs looking for volunteers in tha paper each week.

Depending on your political leanings, there's the Young Republicans, (watch the other bloggers gag and spit..and tell you it's a fate worse than death..lol)  Things like Toastmasters?  I guess it depends on your interests.
School, like mentioned above is a great place to meet people.  I've made a lot of friends over the years with all the classes I've taken..and they come in all ages. For fun and economy use BC.

I think match.com works better for guys than gals because there aren't all that many guys listed in this area.  Well, not many guys  who are too old to be my son anyway.  :-)

Gag, spit. That's a fate worse than death.  :)  Classes are a great idea.  Any volunteer work is good too, unless you hate it.  No point in putting out a false ad.
