It Was Blood for Oil, Now it's Blood for Cookies!!!
I give my student's blood for cookies, it seems . . . Last week, the bloodmobile visited the Bakersfield Adult School. I encouraged my students to give, and jokingly asked them to bring me their cookie (as payment for being allowed out of my class—as giving blood was less painful than 30 minutes in my class). And bless their hearts; I got cookies from almost every one of them! I wasn’t serious about it and made sure they had something to eat, but yes, they asked for extra and the kind people from the blood bank gave them extra cookies to “play along” with my poor humor. Well, you’re heard of blood for oil, now it’s blood for cookies. And also, I am running for President . . . Now what country makes good cookies??? That's why I call it the "blood for cookies exchange program". Although occasionally they do offer a license plate frame.....

At least they asked for extra cookies, otherwise you would've had more kids sleeping through your class than usual. :)
