As I read about the most recent taxi cab driver assault, I thought to myself 'how sad'. This man is out working, making a living and is assaulted by a couple of thugs.

How horrible is this? This isn't the first time it's happened and certainly won't be the last. http://www.bakersfield.com/...

I'm not familiar with the taxi service but maybe they should have safe vehicles and I have a few suggestions.

1.  Add plexi-glass in between the driver seat and the back seat for the drivers safety.

2.  No more front seat passengers.

3.  Make passengers show ID, so when they get tinto the car you can write there personal info. down.

4. Maybe install cameras.

I know some may not agree but you should be safe when you go work.  Taking a couple extra step might just be the solution.

I'd like to hear your ideas.
