Someone saw the sign!
Looks like the tape wasn't even off the painted leaf when someone snapped this newly unveiled Bakersfield city sign. What do you think of the new logo? See something newsworthy? I liked the squiggle :-( Although the sign it was on sure was an ugly, industrial concrete thing. Now we have a sign that's reminiscient of Lending Tree's logo. Wait mind you, considering the whole housing/mortgage mess in Bakersfield, that may be fitting. Was that their original intent when designing the logo, I wonder? At least this design beat out that horrible grade school montage modge-podge thing that was also submitted.

It's a brand new sign all right. No gang graffiti or Virgin Mary apparition. posted by

Sign's okay. At least they left off "Life as it should be." THAT'S a bit of a stretch, if you ask me.

Agreed - this new sign is just calling out to our local artists and I personally liked the old sign better.
