motopoet - > MARK'S WORLD -> All Along The Watchtower
All Along The Watchtower

Well, I am going to have to ask your forgiveness for my dated post, but it's been hard to make time to do much lately..AGAIN! I actually wrote this blog in my book the day it was making such a splash,a nd whilr the news itself may be out of time, the point I am going to make has legs.

Once again I am NOT amazed at the attention given by the left to most trivial of incidents involving the president. His watch disappeared during a photo op meet n greet deal in Albainia as he shook hands with te crowd. So what? Where did it go? Who cares? Was it another act of deception by the administration? Give me a freakin' break!

These are the kinds of distractions to the left that I wrote about awhile back(see "Shiny Objects"). It is the type of indident that exemplifies the lefts lack of focus on real issues. They grouse about evey decision Bush makes but provide no answers to any questions or solution to any problems so they hone in on events such as this. It is so typically predictable and it is why I am not amazed or even mildly surprised. I will not defend many decisions Bush has made lately, but neither will I concern myself with where his watch went. If I want to be entertained I'll go to a concert or watch the Simpsons.

The bloggers on the left have lampooned the Albanians by calling them names deriding them for even wanting to have Bush in their country. Which brings me to another thing that has stopped surprising me where the left is concerned and that is the immaturity of the left. I mean please, name calling is SO high school! On top of that, not everyone in the world feels the same way aboyt Bush and America as the boisterous left would have you think.

America still represents the best the world has to offer and Bush represents us, no matter how he is perceived by his detractors at home.

If America represents the best, and Bush represents us, all the more reason to critizise how poorly he does so.

.

Like so: http://www.dailykos.com/sto...

.

They love him so much in Albania that 500 US troops had to accompany him on his visit.    Res ipsa loquitur.

Well I'm sure no conservatives ever jumped on the bash Clinton wagon huh Mark?

True, not everybody in the world thinks of bush as American Liberals do, but then again not everybody in the world is against cannibalism either. In 2004 a poll of foreign countries, mostly those that are democratic, had 8 out of 10 polled people preferring Kerry over Bush. And Kerry had about as much appeal as Fred Gwynn. That was 2004, whattaya think that poll would show now? In a November 2006 Poll, the Brits, our staunches allies, thought that Bush was more dangerous to the world than Kim Jung Il.

It is quite evident that although not everybody has a dim view of Bush, the vast majority of the globe does. Any sympathy gained over 911 was quickly snuffed out by Bush's tactics. The world disagrees with him on everything from Iraq, to Guantanamo, to global warming. For a while most of the animosity was directed straight at Bush, but now opinion of Americans in general has deteriorated because we have put up with him.

A lost wristwatch IS inconsequential, andof course Bush haters are going to jump on it. But what serious liberal thinks it was a ploy or a conspiracy?  Some pick pocket got him, big deal, it could have been a bullet instead, and been real news.

The lefts lack of focus on real issues? You mean like health care, global warming, the war in Iraq etc.

I guess you would have  the left focus on what's important to conservatives, like flag burning, gay marriage, gun rights, and pretending to be anti government yet having the biggest governmental bureaucracy in U.S. history.

Most conservatives now view Bush for what he is, and that's not conservative in the least bit.

The proper word to describe Bush is "fascist," not "conservative."

True all sides do this. What I am waiting for is the one brave soul who says "I am stopping it now"~that person I am voting for, will follow...otherwise I just use policy and ideas as my guide.Neither party can hold their heads up on this issue.P.S.It is all Jerry Springers fault! ;-)

whatever makes you all feel good about your bitterness and hatred. I NEVER felt that way about Clinton. I simply disagreed with how he did things. Yes..many right folks DID do teh constant bashing and conspiracy crap..I did not. When I speak of the way I see things on here I am speaking of the way I see things..Not the way anyone else may or may not see things..That's why I call it MARK'S WORLD! I choose not to lower myself to namecalling and such drivel. Not in politics or in everyday life. There is never a good reason for it. It cheapens the debate and such hogwash tends to call up the lowest common denominator. It's really no matter. Please continue to whack the president daily. Please expend as much of your energy and time as possible deriding the president. The more you do it, the less your chances for victory in 2008. While America may agree that Bush is making a mess of things(I actually agree with them for the most part)they are also sick of listening to the negative messages from the left. The left NEVER has anything positive to say about anything. They want us to believe the world is falling apart around us, which is not true. It's bad enough they hear these messages but they hear no solutions. Contrary to what many democrats would have us think, Americans are not stupid. They know crap when they hear it and the stopgap measures and unrealistic goals of some of the left folks will not lure the voters to their side come election day.

What solutions are out there that no one is listening to Mark? Just curious, since you mentioned it.

I fail to see my bitterness and hate moto~maybe because my kids died, but that is not what we speak of.I do not hate.I see not a lot of positives from you about democrats just implying some dems think Americans are stupid~but thats not technically name calling. So back at ya' friend, keep the fires stoked in your heart.

Is the "idea" of the War on Terror (and Terror Alerts) derived from the left? Or what about the rationale of fight them over there before we have to fight them here? What does the left say about the world falling apart?

The "left" wants to adopt France's  "Terror Alert System"

Yellow----Hide

Orange---Run

Red----Surrender

Don't we already have something like that in place?
posted by anonymous on Jun 18, 2007 at 11:29 PM
And the current Terror plan in place is working SO well isn't it NeverLeft? You must be proud, only 3500 Americans have lost their lives for it and those that are mentally damaged get rejected and sent back into battle.

Bush does not represent me! He represents crony-ism to the extreme. If you're not in his club you get nothing. Bush is such an easy target due to his whopping failures and whopping malapropisms for many humorists and critics to square off on. I do agree with you that the continual focus on Bush is a distraction. It distracts people's attention from having so much wealth concentrated in so few hands. In speech recently given by Elizabeth Edwards, she pointed out that 300,000 extremely wealthy individuals, which represents  one percent of the population, have more combined wealth than 150 million Americans. To be distracted from such a meaningful statistic and reality by focusing on Bush pratfalls indicates this country is simply a drug induced group of zombies who have lost touch with reality. Thank you for pointing out how dull both the left and right truly are.

As for me, my reasons for despising Bush have nothing to do with the Iraq war.  (And, it's not necessary to be "left" to despise him.  Simply being a libertarian or a classical conservative is sufficient.)

Never have I had a president who had such absolute and total disregard for people outside of his catered "base."  If you're not part of his "base," your opinions count for absolutely nothing -- he won't consider a word you say -- and his answer to your plight would be "hit the road, you nobody."  If you're not part of his base, you're not even in the census in his eyes.

Every past president in my lifetime has at least put on the appearance of representing and serving all Americans.  This jerk doesn't even try to take into consideration the 87% that are outside of his so-called base.

I dunno Mark, what's more realistic, leaving Iraq, or fighting their civil war that we started?

There are 3500 real good reasons to despise this President, and I'm not one of those guys that jumped on the 'lets get out' bandwagon over the last year. I'm one of those guys that thought from the get, "We were attacked by religious zealots, so now we attack the only middle eastern regime that ISN"T run by religious fanatics?"

But I do agree that both sides of the aisle aren't getting much done. And I also think your right that if the Dems don't take some action, the election might not be as etched in stone as people think.. Remember when George I seemed a lock for re-election after Desert Storm?

On a more light hearted note, there is a rumor flying around that Ryan is not eligible for Fresno State and that he may end up at B.C. Although I would personally love to see him play here in town, especially considering that the Gades will be National Champion contenders, I'm hoping this is just a rumor and that he's good to go for the Bulldogs. If it is not true, please let me know so I can squelch the rumors.

Antiex, the ones run by religious fanatics didn't have oil.

Soooo, if vegetable oil becomes a realistic alternative to crude.......will we invade Iowa???

They better think twice, I hear the Iowan insurgents are well armed!

Ah, so Patreus thinks this may take a decade. Well, then it won't be his fault we failed right? LOL

I wonder if it is only going to take another decade for the Palestinians to all get on the same page too.

Or maybe, just maybe, civil wars and policing foreigners just isn't our forte. We're much better at being boxers than refs.

Dusty..There ARE no sloutions by the left, just ravings..Thats my point!...Sage..I NEVER mean to imply that everyone on the left or all democrats believe or support the same things..it is, as with most things, a generalization. If you dont fit that mold, all the better. Adam..I said Bush represents America to the rest of the world, not Americans..He doesn't represent all I believe either, but he IS the President. I doubt Putin represents all Russians or Castro all Cubans, but that is the way it is perceived in the geo political arena...guilty by association!

Mark, I have a solution to the Iraq crisis.  But I guarantee you won't like it.

Side note.  Ryan and family have already moved to Fresno for him to begin practice.  With it being a full ride I doubt the rumors are true.  Mark will be along to fill you in.  I'm sort of out of the loop since they moved and haven't talked to any of them since just before fraduation a couple of weeks ago.    Maybe we need a Ryan blog.  lol.
