Get ready, America: Great Depression 2.0

Don't want to go gloom and doom on ya all, so I'll let Vox Day do that:

http://www.wnd.com/index.ph...

As I commented on Audrey's post on the subject of the rebound in the economy:

The bump in the economy is artificial and will not last. A Fox News business analyst said the same this morning, saying it's just folks jacking up their credit card debt and seasonal hiring that are propping up this momentary giddiness.

Thought we were all gonna die last year, or was that the year before that. Gloom and doom was so 1999.

We are all going to die one of these years! Some sooner then others but, nobody gets off this planet alive!

Who cares about a economic rebound if you're unemployed?

Is this like Who Wants to be Millionaire where we cheer for someone else to get rich?

Pax, I'll ask you once more, my friend. Do you really, really believe what sites like wnd put out? Or do you just like it because they reflect what you believe to be true?

Vox Day just came out with a column to talk about his book. I share his thoughts with this remark: "I will readily admit the possibility that I am wrong; perhaps we are just months away from entering a golden era of unprecedented wealth and prosperity. But I don't think so. I really don't think so."

To answer Pogo's question, I really do believe what WND puts out. I consider it to be the Fox News of the print media. It's virtually the only one that's seemingly asking the hard questions and being real. There's a reason folks are flocking to Fox News. WND is climbing up the Internet charts for the same reason.

That said, only time will tell if another Great Depression is looming in the horizon. Or we may very well be in the midst of it and not realizing it as Day notes in his column--like the proverbial frog in the pot slowly being heated to a boil. As Day also notes, the debt will be our albatross -- or a house of cards with a pox on it, courtesy of Pax and Vox:

Pogo  It's not just WND saying this....many top economist & trend forecasters are saying our country is going into a hardcore depression that we may never recover from. I could post tons of sources but I doubt you would check them out. Most likely you will just makes some blanket statement & assume I am making it all up.

I'll definitely agree with you on this one; its going to take a long time before this country recovers from 8 years of Bush, but at least our noble peace prize winning President has us off ot a great start.
