Hillary scores in Bako!
Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign coffers shot from near-zero to overflowing — we're talking Kern County donations — near the end of the mid-year reporting period.

The surge came mid-to-late June, mostly from Sikh donors, records show. One contributor told us Clinton has the community's interests at heart.

Here's a link to our list of contributions for the first half of the year:

Now, a question for y'all:

Kern Dems seem to give more to presidential candidates, while Kern Reps to party committees.

Why is that?

Or perhaps Democratic supporters care to support the candidate, while Republican supporters care to support the party?

Who is it that is guilty of groupthink again? I keep forgetting.......

Don't show 'em a picture of a Sikh or they'll say Hillary is complicit with the enemy. Of course Sikh's are about as Muslim as Buddha, but hey.....it's that whole headgear thang that'll get the rednecks juices flowin'.

In case I have predicted this already, Hilary Clinton will not be the Democratic nominee for president. She will not win popular elections outside a few eastern liberal states. And I wouldn't bet much she will win any of those.

This country may elect a woman president, but it won't be her. And I think her husband was one of the best presidents we ever had, nothwithstanding his choice in women.

I dunno Steve. Did you see those Vegas odds Random linked to the other day where Hillary is down to a 2:1 favorite?

I thought she was unelectable too Steve, but the political world turns on a dime.

Gretchen:

It's because Republicans know that effective political strategy is like a chess game.

Party committees can spend the money where it is necessary as the election unfolds.  Donating to one political candidate is a crap shoot, unless they're an entrenched incumbent, in which case they do the same thing the party committees do -- selectively contribute the money to other candidates/legislators who have a shot of winning.
