GOP sends California to the back of the line
AP is reporting that a Republican Party rules committee wants to impose some order on the primary schedule for 2012. Small states would get to go first, and large states would be pushed back. Under the plan, big states would be in three rotating batches. The first batch would go in early March, the seond in late March and the third in April. The plan would have to be endorsed by the convention. Oh, and then would have to survive 50 legislatures trying to jump ahead. 3 comments from 3 users

Why not all states on the same day? All 50 states hold their primary on 2nd Saturday in September and that it is whoever wins the most votes. No cacaus, no split delegates stuff, just simple who got the most votes. posted by

SF, the logic of spacing the primaries is to give low-dollar a candidates to get their message out. No primary candidate can win 50 states on the same day.
