Kevin McCarthy challenged on MSNBC
Bogus, or no? Kevin McCarthy's appearance on MSNBC this morning talking stimulus is being mocked by this blogger as "bogus economic talking points." McCarthy's arguing tax cuts, not sprucing up the National Mall, will stimulate the economy. MSNBC's Norah O'Donnell challenges him on that. Judge it for yourself. I'm still hunting for video of the full interview, FYI. — Government team leader Christine Bedell

I don't understand McCarthy's continual defense of Republican tax policies that have been shown to decimate our economy, and hence the world's economy. Does McCarthy even realize the unemployment rate here is at very close to 12%? posted by

So does McCarthy think that the economy would be better today if the Bush tax cuts were just larger? What evidence does he have that tax cuts create growth? The Federal Reserve doesn't think so. Neither does the Congressional Bugdet Office. Or the Citizens for Tax Justice. Not only have the Republicans started this fire, they're claiming that the way to fix it isn't with water but more gasoline.
