McCarthy announces new political group
From his office: Today, Congressman Kevin McCarthy was on CNN and Fox News regarding the formation of a new grassroots group to serve as a policy-based forum to engage in a thoughtful conversation with the American people –the “National Council for a New America.” Congressman McCarthy issued the following statement: “Listening to the American people will provide the real solutions that our country needs to solve our current challenges. We know the best ideas are not in Washington, but throughout America. That is why the National Council for a New America will engage our communities in a conversation to gather common-sense solutions from hard-working American families. Please join us in this discussion as we use the power of new ideas to move our country forward.”

Does the GOP just have some kind of random name generator? Some program that randomly chooses from words like America, liberty, freedom, tax, reform, century, and the like, and then spews out some name that is usually the exact opposite of what the group stands for? That must be it. posted by

Don't know...years ago, a sanitation engineer WAS a garbage man-(which by the way I thought was cool)---or natural gas was when you told someone to pull your finger... :-) Rather than coming up with solutions to fix this mess that America-and the world- is in...the GOP- or ( HCNA ) comes up with THIS... When my dog ' gos' out to do his morning constituational....call it what you want...it's still the same thing--and NO..I'm not stepping in it to be sure.... This is just my opinion....

Ling, I thought the garbage man was cool, too. My father-in-law owned a "waste management" company and I was hoping that one day I could work for him to be the cool "Trash Guy". I have memories of the trash man when I was young in his City of Bakersfield uniform wearing shades. That just exuded cool. posted by

Just like ~jfrancais~ and I--and MANY others over the years--we swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign AND domestic....while serving--we functioned as a team--as one--beyond race--or politics--never even crossing our minds...we we're all one color...GREEN.... So it tears me up to hear how our politicians in Washington and here at home and many of us OUT HERE can't seem to figure out that this 'classification' that we throw at each other so freely--ie: LIB-Conservative--etc..yet forgetting that we are all Americans--in the same boat.... I really don't care if one prays on his knees..palms in the air..or on his stomach...that's their right--by law and should be respected-not ridiculed... So keep calling each other names and give them classifications.....my money is with the ones that answers the call...and ready to respond at a drop of a hat---and they could care less if he's a lib--or this--or that---because they are a team and of one mind--to win.... This is just my opinion.... AND here's the kicker.....OUR politicans took the same oath as WE DID..... posted by
