I posted my first photo gallery...

I had been trying for days to post a photo gallery with absolutely no success, but after switching computers I finally managed to get a photo gallery posted.

I'm not sure if it's just my Internet or what, but I can't post large photos, so I tried posting my San Francisco pictures that I had taken with my five-megapixel camera two years ago and it finally worked. Yes!

Check out my San Francisco photo gallery. I posted 54 pictures. I spent over an hour uploading them, and a lot of time typing in captions and titles. Some are random and others totally suck, but I posted them anyway. The last picture is my favorite.

Jason, thanks for replying to my e-mails and helping me out. I'm sure I drove you insane!

I intend to create more galleries, so hopefully I'll be able to get the pictures to upload. Are any of you going to create photo galleries?

Robin, your pictures are beautiful.  You should really think of entering one in the fair.  The one of the girl's hoodie reflecting in the window is very artistic.  I think you have real talent.  Keep working at your craft.

Yeesh--I sound like a teacher.  Well, I mean it, anyway.

I like your photos. I love SF. I went to SFSU for a semester, but I left because it was too expensive, and I was too easily distracted. Instead of writing papers and studying, I would hop on the MUNI or BART to see what was going on in a different part of the city.

Thanks, Cat. That means so much to me. I loved the picture of the girl's reflection in the window. I was so lucky to get it, because I saw her in front of me and thought it might be a nice picture, but I wasn't sure if I could get it right. I took the picture twice, and they both turned out well, but this one turned out a little better, I thought. She moved a few seconds later. I will continue to work on my photography, and maybe I'll get it right someday...ha ha.

I actually have entered pictures in the fair for the past two years. I entered the last pictures of my gallery in the fair two years ago. I forgot to mention that in the caption. I just can't believe I got that picture while on a moving train. I won a few ribbons. I'm not sure if I'll enter any pictures this year, because I'm running out of inspiration. I was required to enter in the junior category and never had a lot of competition, but now I'm going to have all of Kern County's best photographers to compete against. It sounds pretty scary.

Robin, I love your pictures.  I used to work right at that intersection where you took the picture of the American Flag in front of the green building.

Robin, don't be scared of going into the next rung.  You're absolutely ready to run with the best of them.  You've got a great sense of light and a fearlessness about getting the camera where it needs to be the shot you need.

AdamP, it's hot up there too right now.  Not quite so hot, but hot enough.

Pup, I just moved here from there a week ago.  I was driving around yesterday without AC and thinking it wasn't so bad.  90 in the Bay Area used to make me comatose.

Great pictures Robin!

Pup, I was in North Oakland.  Mark Twain once said the coldest winter he'd ever known was summer in San Francisco.

Most of the time that's true.  I only remember it being like this once before, in the summer of 2000.  The year of the blackouts and Enron.  All of South of Market was outside and wandering around dazed waiting for the power to come back.

I do weird shots too, Robin...like the shot thru the peephole...way cool.

Last year was my first time entering the fair, and I was EXTREMELY intimidated.  It's suppose to be for AMATEURS only.  I picked up a few ribbons.  I only was hoping for honorable mentions.  I was so jazzed when one of them took 2nd for my first time outta the gate....so go for it.   And I agree, I loved the girls reflection shot too.

Thank you, everyone, so much for the compliments on my San Francisco photo gallery! I really appreciate it!

Thanks, Tom, for encouraging me to keep at my photography. I haven't been doing much lately and don't go anywhere, but sometimes I just like to go outside and shoot what I see as artistic.

Woof, I'm glad you did well and got to enter pictures in the fair last year. It's fun to think about entering them in the fair and having the matted and everything, but it's scary for me to think that I'm 19 and my pictures will be competing against all the professional adults who know so much more than I do and have all the right equipment. It's sooo scary...ha ha. I haven't felt like I've taken anything worthy of fair submission yet, but maybe I'll look through my archives and see what I have.

I believe I'll use the PhotoBlogger account to post fair submission info as soon as the catalog is available online. Right now it says they're releasing it July 3, but sometimes they change the date, so we'll see.
