Out of curiosity, what do you propose as an alternative to getting the economy back on track?

1.  get rid of all the illegal aliens that is a BURDEN on the tax payers of this country

2.  get rid of unions (yes i am a teacher, and I would like to see my union be DISSOLVED)

3.  English only..cut down on some government waste

4.  start giving tax breaks to new businesses and to married people to have children (to create more tax payers....im sue the gay mafia will hate this idea)

5.  can the environmental crap for a decade, as it is a definite burden on our economy.

6.  vote out ALL constituents in EVERY elected position that can be.....and let the new ones know up front, any sign of corruption, youre out too.

get all this done within a year, and within a year more, we would see economic growth...not more unemployment, like this DIMulous has brought (gee could it be that the stim money went to BHO's buddies in corporations, and not to the people of the US?)

1.  Send the 26 million people who are in this country illegally back home.

2. Quit spending money we don't have.

3. Produce something of value and sell it.

4.  Give people and incentive to work, rather than punishing them for every achievement...

I don't think heeding Bidens advice to keep buying cheap crap from China is really the way to get the economy back on track.....I don't know of any bankruptcy court that would allow a company to "spend money faster than you bring it in" in order to avoid bankruptcy...

So, you enjoy breathing in toxicity?  Ok, let's get rid of environmental protections - you'll be spending more money filtering the water you drink and the air you breathe.  You better start planting that garden if you don't have one, and make sure you have enough livestock to feed your family, because without "environmental crap," you run the risk of getting sick, and then having to pay more money in doctor bills.

If I'm misunderstanding your definition of "environmental crap" - please clarify it for me.  The issue I'll agree with you on has to do with the whole delta smelt thing.

Personally, I'd rather see the government go after the businesses that facilitate the process.  they are perpetuating history by making billions (and a bailout) off cheap labor to teh detriment of people that need (or at least claim to) jobs.

The banks were trying to bring in foreign labor (albeit legal with the help of their lobbyists) to increase profits during the boom times and now they have bailout money.  The American people are getting played and don't even know what times it is (hey, I sound like somebody).

Child tax credit and dependent deductions.  Any productive asset purchased for a business is a tax write off. Rent is a write off. Supplies are a write off. Insurance is a write off.  55% of my gross is a write off.

BTW: Until you work for the private sector, you pay no net taxes.

Very true.  The idea of shipping illegals on a plane back to home countries is impossible (and laughable).  It doesn't make economic sense.  Blaming illegals for America problems is the wrong answer.  They are treated like a proverbial mistress in that they are admired behind closed doors but shunned in the public.  Look around CA.  Someone is hiring them.  They are cogs in the American machine of circulating dollars.  They work for cheap, they have purchasing power, and they help prop up the American economic system (i.e. cheap labor force that buys stuff). 

How would towns like Selma, Fowler, or Wasco survive without immigrants willing to work in the fields for 2 bits (only to give their soul to the company store)?

I'd like nothing better than a single payer government plan. My medical insurance is my biggest single expense, reduces my net profit, and takes away money I'd otherwise put back into the real economy. Yeah, and if I get sick, they'll probably cancel me.

Not quite but we're getting there.  Stores should be able to sell to whomever has the dollars (I'm a socialist not a communist).  Hospitals should treat anybody that comes through their doors.  If businesses really want the public to believe that they care about the American people then they should show it.  It would probably cut into their bottom line but they would be helping address the issue.

It's awesome!!!  I even have someone dump my trash and cut the grass.  No utility bill, I get a check from the government on the 1st and the 15th, and there is minimal crime.  I even have a personal trainer I meet with every morning at 6am and can play on a golf course less than a mile from my house.  I live in a socialist utopia.

Vote out ALL what????? I think the word you were looking for is incumbents. Constituents are the people who put the politician in office to represent them in government. Incumbents are those who are running for re-election for the same office.

If you really are a Teacher, I'd expect you to be intelligent enough to not use words without knowing the definition. Doing this reflects poorly upon the whole teaching profession.

Because I'm tired of 25% of my premiums going to non productive executive staff and stockholders.

I'm tired of paying more because I'm not in a large insurance pool.

I'm tired of being afraid I'll be cancelled.

I'm all for making a buck, as long as the buck earned comes from producing something tangible, instead of fees, salaries, bonuses, and dividends for simply shuffling paper and cutting checks.

I don't want the government to provide health care.   I want them to provide the insurance pool. 

Either way, we will still be subsidizing those who destroy their own health.

I have no problem having the government provide housing for the military, as constitutionally mandated.  Glad you enjoy your digs.

 But the goverment hasn't been that successful providing goverment housing for those outside the military.  Maybe that is why the founding fathers did not call housing a "right".  Cabrini-Green and Robert Taylor Homes, true liberal success stories...

Just watched the opening shots on Bill O'Reilly's show that focused on Obamacare. Bill and Laura Ingraham had a bit of a dust-up over whether Switzerland's universal health care has its merits (Bill thinks so as long as strict controls are in place but no so much for Laura). Both aren't thrilled with the idea of redistributing the wealth to pay for it. That got me fearing for my young sons, who could have a nice future as architects based on their interest in skyscrapers, bridges and drawing. All I could think of is how galling it'd be that they'd have to fork over nearly half their earnings (if not more by then) to help provide for the folks who will be living in the housing projects that they designed. Indeed, socialism at its best.

Wow, that statement just set us back a 100 plus years.  While we are at it, why not make it that if your grandparents didn't vote you can't either.  Or women, cause they should be home cooking or something. 

I can solve all of this countries money problems.  Abolish the IRS, and inact the Fairtax.  Then you can start getting taxes out of everyone that consumes something in this country.  And pay for everything and then some of that the government wants to do, and it levels the playing field. 

Gosh, why not just start a poll tax. That way those scummy poor folk wouldn't be able to vote for a dang liberul.

I find it interesting to hear all the comments from conservatives that suggest we would be better of as a society if people that had subsidized housing were just left out on the streets (shame on you single moms) to starve and have people die on the steps of a hospital because they weren't born in the right country or are poor.
