Elemental Disruption

"Most people go through life dreading they'll have a traumatic experience. Freaks were born with their trauma. They've already passed their test in life. They're aristocrats." Diane Arbus

My life seems to operate sideways~ backwards almost~ and I have come to see thats right for me. A rain of snakes, disruption that cause's growth ,the world split in two.Everyone has there own path, mine has been one of thought, mostly of things folks today seem to disregard. Truth, personal integrity,politeness,...not all eschew these things. For me its been the easiest way to be~ any other way leads me to more trouble..and a sense of humor, above all about myself. Laughter keeps a person sane, and I enjoy seeing the coyote in myself~ the eternal trickster

Ten Items or Less

Morgan Freeman fans ~ this ones for you. Directed by Brad Siberling ,after his "Lemony Snicket's etc etc," the small film is almost student like.

The film revolves around an unlikely friendship that is a real one~simply because of it oddness and the fact it will only last one day.

"Him", an unnamed celebrity, who has not worked in four years is dropped off at a grocery store in Carson to research a part. There he meets Scarlet(Spanglish) the checker who is so much more than meets the eye.Pas Vegas is a Spanish actress to keep your eye on~ she will mature into one of the greats. It's a treat to watch Freeman ,as always, simply being himself~or at least how we think of him being. He interacts with everyone he meets, providing some light comedy to offset some deep truths here and there.

The line he delivers struck me "I sit here in this car and I don't have a real friend I could call. I realize I could just disappear". At films end the colliery is delivered "We live,we work, we are just getting started".I recommend this film to Freeman fans and film aficionados.

I can not seem to get the you tube thing to work anymore(even with the url not the embed so sorry, but heres a link to the films trailer.  http://www.youtube.com/watc... WoooHooo Thanks TomW!!!!

Sounds like a good one, Sage.  I'll try to check it out.

I've had this one in my Netflix for some time and it's slowly walking its way to the top. The premise sounded promising.

OT: I'm watching the "Dead Like Me" series on DVD and I recommend it if you haven't seen it yet. It starts strong and then shows flashes of brilliance during some more weaker episodes. I wish it lasted more than 2 seasons.

TSM~I caught some of "Dead Like Me"  when it was on cable~I found it as you describe, but worth a look. BTW"Screw on Head" is really great~ but only 22 minutes..what a disappointment! But great animation, story line, lol but left you wanting more!

The Amazing Screw-On Head is still rotting in my queue. I'll move it up based on your recommendation.

A friend gave me the two seasons of Dead Like Me and the director's cut of Alexander (it's almost 4 hours). I still have Redacted at home from Netflix as well. I'm going to be busy for a while.
