Steve Elliott is a nationally recognized Internet communications specialist and grassroots political leader. He is the President of Grassfire.org, one the nation’s largest online grassroots citizen action networks which has grown in just a few years to more than one million active participants. Under Steve’s leadership, Grassfire.org has rallied citizens on a host of grassroots issues, including border security, tax reform, abortion, traditional marriage, supporting our troops, exposing media bias and defending the Pledge of Allegiance. Grassfire has been at the forefront of the effort to secure our borders and stop illegal immigration, rallying over 630,000 petition signers and hundreds of thousands of phone calls and faxes to Congress. Grassfire has also been leading the grassroots effort calling on the President to pardon imprisoned U.S. Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. Steve has been a guest on dozens of radio and television shows including Fox News’ Neil Cavuto, CNN, CNBC, Alan Colmes, Mike Gallagher, Glenn Beck and Janet Parshall. VIRGIL: I'm presuming "post-American" means after we are no longer the America as we know it now. Mr. Obama has continually indicated he wants "change". However, many of the changes he wants to make will dramatically change the face of the America live in now. Wealth redistribution, open borders, government run health care, unconstitutional gun laws, the "fairness doctrine" i.e. basically shutting down conservative radio talk shows (freedom of speech??). Of course, this is MY definition and MY opinion. All that said, although I did not vote for Mr. Obama, I do hope (and pray) he will do right by all of us - possibly even re-think some of the "changes" he indicated he would/might implement. I wonder if Tories, plantation owners and segregationists used "post-America" after the country changed. If we're going to have progress society is going to change, whether we're talking about civil rights and equity or the industrial revolution or the invention of the light bulb. Arm pit countries in South America, Africa and camel land haven't changed in centuries. They're happy folks. At least Obama hasn't proposed changes to the Constitution. Can't say that about George Bush or Sarah Palin. posted by

CATPAW:Arm pit countries in South America, Africa and camel land haven't changed in centuries. They're happy folks. Are you sure they are all that happy??? Possibly you could go there and make a report and let us know eh? As a female, I personally, would not want to live there blue is not my color and I doubt the men would allow a fuchsia one - I guess as a man, you would be happy as there are very few, if any, restrictions on the men folk. Yes indeed, there needs to be change, and there has always been change. I do not have a problem with that. However, that said, anyone who wants to change our freedom of speech (fairness doctrine), open our borders to anybody and everybody, tell me when and where and if I will be able to see a physician (government run health care) and take away my right to protect myself and my family (2nd amendment), constitutional changes or not, is not good change, IMO. These kinds of changes will only demoralize America and we will no longer be the United States of America, land of the free, as we will no longer be "United" and we sure won't be (as) free as we are now.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH the what! The "what is.................everything we have now tanking and the government "saving us" from ourselves to the point we have little say so whatsoever in our personal lives! As mentioned above: Wealth redistribution, open borders, government run health care, unconstitutional gun laws, the "fairness doctrine" i.e. basically shutting down conservative radio talk shows (freedom of speech??). This is what the "what" is. I'm truly hoping it does not go down that way - I guess we will all just have to "hide and watch" and if things look like our government is trying to take over our lives totally, we the people will simply have to revolt as we did before, hence the grassfire.org website for people to sign up ahead of time for the revolution. Again, hopefully it will not come to that. posted by

Thanks for the mention of the Grassfire site, SiouxCityRanch. Just signed myself up. It'll be good to have this as a backup plan should it turn out Obama indeed can constitutionally serve as president. For now, he is stonewalling every simple request to have him prove he is a natural-born citizen, and he won't tell us why he won't authorize the release of his original birth certificate for public inspection. So for much for the transparency he has pledged. Let's see what the Supreme Court decides on a couple of lawsuits on this issue in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, it wouldn't hurt to sign a petition to get the officials crackin' on ending this secrecy: http://www.wnd.com/index.ph... The agenda on the website states that grassroots is opposed to: Socialistic wealth redistribution including any and all tax increases and big-government welfare programs. Open border anarchy including amnesty for illegal aliens and promotion of multi-nation “unions”. Government-run health care that weakens our system and imposes more tax burdens on citizens. Weakening of our military through rapid pullback from Iraq, defunding our troops and overall disarmament. Social liberalism including radical pro-abortion agenda, the end of marriage and the homosexual agenda. Liberal court activism that undermines faith, family and liberties while expanding government control. Post-American globalismthat diminishes our global role and threatens our national sovereignty. Environmental extremism, the CO2 tax, exploration. Weakening the 2nd Amendment through unconstitutional gun laws that take away or penalize us for owning firearms and our right to defend our family, our property, and ourselves. Of these, six are demonstrably not on the Obama agenda (even if one strips them of the incendiary language): 1) Silencing Conservatives through the Fairness Doctrine; 2) Open Border Anarchy; 3) Weakening of Our Military; 4) Social Liberalism; 5) Post-American globalism; and 6) Weakening the 2nd Amendment. Of the rest, Government Run Health Care; Wealth redistribution; Liberal Court Activism; and Environmental Extremism, only one will be pursued in a fashion even remotely similar to what is described. I think grassroots and its members have little to worry about and even less to form a "Resistance" against.
