Bakersfield Doc's are horrible....
Bakersfield doctors are pretty bad. I know you've probably heard this one before. I have tried to find a good set of physicians for me and my wife since i've been here. But finding A good M.D. here has been the toughest task of any. We found out a baby was coming into our lives 9 months ago. I have good insurance and looked for good MD's. The OBGYN Rebecca Rivera, graduated from UCLA and was board certified, so naturally sounded like a safe choice. With our expectations high we made an apointment. The doctors office was not to far from our house and had a decent staff. But our first appointment the doctor was not available(allegedly at hospital). So we ended up seeing the R.N. who was pretty nice to us. The next appointment ended with the same results. Third time Rivera was finally there. She seemed kind of cold and not enthusiatic about having us in her office that day. As time went by she remained uncaring and short with us. I understand she cannot be happy for every couple that walks through the door. But common courtesy is a must as this is an emotional time. My wife felt upset and by the 8th month she didn't feel comfortable with Rivera as the doctor. The 36th week of pregnancy we had an appointment, and that's when Rivera told us she would be on vacation. Since she is part of a two-physician private practice she told us that doctor Elva Lopez M.D. would take over for her. When the day of conception arrived, Lopez was on a rest day. We were told she would be available. Nope. A resident physician named Doctor Yu delivered the our baby girl. She is a prefect and healthy baby girl. Overall, our experience with these doctors have left us with the ultimate bad taste. I wanted to have the baby at Huntington Memorial in Los Angeles. The two hour trip would have been with it. Please I hope this helps someone choose or not choose these 2 doctors.

I can't believe how everything is happening here in Bakersfield.  Super Walmart, Super Target.  Truth is these places are causing some major chaos around where they are located(mostly Walmart though).  I live in the NorthEast and the Walmart up here is a lot less crowded now.  It's been awesome for me.  But I think Walmart is going over board.  They are little by little taking away all the small business.  I haven't been to the "Super" centers, but I hear they do Hair? Nails? Groceries? If this is true, that is definetly going to kill any Mom and Pop shops left.  I feel sorry for the little shops that won't be able to compete.  Does anyone else fell this way?
