U.S. tennis player's amazing rant against female tennis stars
OK, so it's not Pete Sampras, but a U.S. tennis player who sits on the board of directors of the ATP, is at the center of a sexism row after his outrageous comments concerning top female tennis players. The comments — which included describing some stars as 'sexpots' (and worse) while threatening violence to another — were in an interview given by Justin Gimelstob. 9 comments from 6 users

If this is so "amazing" and "outrageous" where's the link? Something more than a two sentence summary would be nice. posted by

Hate to admit it, Justin does have a point. Anna K. was booed at a US Open because of her lack of effort on the court. She does come off as a mercenary sexpot looking for endorsements more often than not. Likewise, younger women sports stars seem to be sexualizing their appearances. Starting to make me wonder what kind of sleaze machine owns these women. Justin also rightly pointed out that some young sport stars do not "attend high school." Professional sports (not just tennis) have a moral obligation to require a minimum of education before a young phenom is allowed to participate as a professional athlete. Sadly, Justin could have made a sobering statement about his sport. His choice of words misdirected any such message and turned it into a tirade denigrating women. posted by
