Any yard salers out there? A lemonade stand rant :0)

Going to yard sales is fun. I love it.

Here's my only thing to complain about...

People..If you see a child selling lemonade or sodas or a couple dime toys, please buy it from them.

What the hell is one quarter gonna set ya back?

If I see those cute little smiling faces beaming up at me from over a lemonade stand table I'm a softy.

I buy a cup.

I don't usually drink it but I am very polite and dispose of it outta site from the little sellers :-)

The reason I am even saying anything is...

Well, our neighborhood had its "annual" yard sales. Lots and lots of sales!

My 8 year old daughter wanted and just begged to set up a lemonade stand. I let her.

She had that along with sodas.

Then she made cute, really cute, grab bags for either girl or boy.

She sat at her own beautifully decorated table and was beaming!

How stinking disappointing for most to walk right on by without even acknowledging her.

Our street is very nice.

Our house is very nice.

Our things were neat and clean.

And my daughter is beautiful! Smiled the whole time!

So I'm positive that wasn't the problem.

Slowly but Shirley she was becoming disappointed.

Now I'm a mom so I side with the kids here I know but...she really worked hard and was sure she would be a hit!

It was kinda sad to see.

She did sell some things and still had a blast! I say good for her!

Good for ANY kid that is willing to go through that :-)

Maybe have some fun and make a child selling lemonade happy :-)

It will make their day! Promise :-)

Count me in! I could never pass up a kid with a lemonade stand.

I'll admit.. I'd rather be a patron of a child's lemonade stand than have one show up at my door asking to buy $20 worth of wrapping paper.

My wife and I were out looking at some of the auction homes a few weeks back and there were some kids that had a stand.. there was no one else around and they were basically screaming at us to come buy some lemonade.. so of course we obliged.  Glad your daughter was able to enjoy the day even with the disappointments!

I think it's cute and its a great way for them to make a little bit of cash and have fun.

I didn't see too many kids selling lemonade when I lived in Bako, but when I did, I always stopped & bought and gave a tip as well.  One little girl had set up her stand by the dog park & walked all the way over to where I was ... her & her mom made "freshly squeezed" lemonade, it was yummy, well it wasn't all that yummy, but it was hot & the lemonade was cold.  I could never pass up a kiddo selling something ... it's just to sweet to see them smiling, happy, and eager...and they always have that cute twinkle in their eyes.

BTW, I'm assuming the pic you have up is of your daughter.  With that face, how could anyone pass up buying from her?!!!!  She's a cutie!

I am an employer of approx 2000 people and this is what our country was built on, I say bravo for your daughter, I would rather see a kid doing something to earn their way than to expect mom and dad to just give. Your an awesome mom to allow her to be creative.
