thegrumpyskeptic - > THE GRUMPY SKEPTIC -> Hi I've been extremely busy
Hi I've been extremely busy

Hi there I've been on Hiatus for a while, several horrible things happened. My uncle committed suicide about one month ago. My son suffered a near drowning, which kept us at Valley Children's Hospital in Madera for a week. Also I started going to college, WHOO HOO! so with a full time job, a house to clean up, and a wife to love, and some Xbox justice to deal out, I haven't had much time for anything.I have written some stuff on death, life, and how that affects me as an atheist which I wrote on my laptop, which is in my wife's car at the moment. I will start the grumpyness soon. Hope everyone has had less eventful times as of late than I, lol see ya

Sound like you've lived through a painful month.   Hope your son is doing well.  Welcome back.

Your post brought me out of a self imposed "time out" . I am sorry to hear about your rough spots and really look forward to reading your thoughts about life and death. Take care of your self, your family. Welcome back.

Wow Grumpy

Sometimes life gets really overwhelming.  I hope your son is fully recovered.

Isn't it amazing how much human drama we hear on these blogs.    At the end of the day, we're all pretty much alike.

Yeah, I'm glad you're back, too, Grumpy, and I totally agree about the XBox priorities.  I've been a little distracted by Lego Indiana Jones myself.  ; )

Keep working grumpy those people on welfare need your tax dollars!

Sorry to hear about your kid - I hope he's ok!  You can make this a learning experience for him and talk to him about water safety, CPR, etc (not sure how old he is, but it's never too young to learn these things).

Your uncle's suicide sucks, I'm sure.  Did he do it for a particular reason?  As an atheist I am not fettered by religious dogma and I advocate suicide.  It's your (his) life, right?  I'm sure it's difficult on you especially if you guys were close.  Just remember as an atheist I wouldn't worry about him burning in some fantasy hell for it.  His life probably was a hell for him to go to such extremes, and whatever his reasons at least he's not suffering now.  The whole "oh look it me suffer I'm such a martyr" b.s. is for the birds.  If you can't take life anymore, just do a Thelma & Louise nosedive into oblivion.
