Our daughter Courtney Velasco who is a senior at West High School was invited to the University of Notre Dames Spring Visitation Weekend. It's an all expense paid weekend for four days. She is part of a select group of students that will be flown out to tour the campus, to help out with the decision process of picking a college. It's a exciting time of the year for our daughter, as she makes such a big decision for the next part of her journey in life. I'm not sure if I want our daughter going so far away for college, but I will try and be strong as it is her decision on what to do with the next step in her life. As the second oldest of our four daughters she has it a little easier on the range of colleges she applied to. Lucky her. 2 comments from 2 users

Wow! You should be very proud of her. Yeah, I understand your anxiety of letting her leave home to go somewhere far away. I was (and still am) a nervous wreck the first time my kid soloed with the family car. As long as she keeps in touch, you'll feel relieved--sort of. "Everything o.k. honey?" "I need $500." My parents are deceased. But I'm sure they are somewhere laughing at me now.
