Bakersfield High Energy Farms
Location: California AVE/Oleander, Bakersfield, CA

We are involved in Energy REsearch, to engage the talents of local students, who can learn about energy savings...we ask: Why are we paying for electricity when we are surrounded by wind farms??  Why does not our school district offer energy education to our students?  They are spending tens of thousands each month on electricity, rather than learn and teach students how to produce their own power...our schools, hospitals, and churches pay huge sums of money, that could be used for education, while ignoring the realities and benefits of alternatives in energy production....

Maybe the ability of schools/educators to learn and teach about energy production shows how well they are preparing our students for a future that promises new directions in every field on human endeavor.  Let us know what you think about this subject.  We hope you enjoy our growing collection of energy-related videos....

And with 300+ days of burning hot sunlight, wouldn't Bakersfield benefit from some solar power generation? Dairies everywhere, but no bio-diesel?

Kudos to you for getting kids interested. Apparently, they're the only hope...

Where would you like to locate the solar panels?? Are you going to pay for them, or do you want me to??

Try driving in any direction, oh let's say west of Bakersfield. See all that land with nothing on it? And thanks for stepping up to the plate and paying for it. Since I moved to Humboldt a year ago, I really don't feel like.

Having just watched Syriana ,which raised many complex questions about energy, our consumption etc, last night, I am overjoyed to see this post. The line that the Emir to be says~"The country that spends so much on its military budget has lost it's powers of persuasion"(paraphrased)chilled me..we need to face the reality that new sources of energy are needed. The notion of who is going to pay~ we all are one way or another. For my dollar I want  newcleaner technology, more equal economics and better life quality.

The ghost of Mocus strikes again Robb.

Great idea. Alternative energy will, and has to happen. Why not get those that are going to enjoy those benefits the most involved.

Someday orbiting solar panels will ring the earth. In fact there is also research being conducted for satelites to combat the global warming scenario.

Kudos to you sir for your efforts.

Great blog.  I'll b looking forward to more videos.  As for the dairies, a lot of farmers are using the methane on their farms to generate electricity.  I just read an article talking about taking part of the manure that is normally wasted or sold as potting soil may be used to create fiberboard for floors and furniture.

Thanks for all the comments.

We are asking those who wish to push this forward, to create their own energy blogs.  I posted all of my schools on myspace, which allowed me to link back to my former classmates.  Then I decided to create a profile and energy blog on all of the local newspaper/blogs in the towns where I went to school.  All of the responses have been very supportive...the local blogs have been more effective than the big, global sites.  Those who respond on the global sites have been local people!!
