The word Ni$$er is like the words Horse, Cow, Pig, Sheep or Goat. It refers to a type of livestock. When Slavery was legal, owners referred to their slaves as Ni$$ers. The insult comes from the fact that livestock are animals, not human and animals have no Soul. Without a Soul, there is no afterlife.

As to your derivation of the N-word, it's clearly from the related terms meaning "black" by way of the term "Negro." Slave owners certainly thought of their slaves as propertly, likely as livestock, but it has nothing to do with the term.

He was actually indited but never tried and convicted as a participant back in the 60's. He was able to skate out on a couple of events that sent several members of the Black Panthers to Prison.

Although with the advancement of education the level of racial tolerance in this nation has greatly improved during the past few decades, there is still no shortage of bigoted, racist idiots in this country where many of these socially underdeveloped people remain entrenched in their ignorance and hate.

It still remains to be seen just how large a part racism will play in the upcoming election.

But the bottom line is, the term in question was simply derived from the word negro, which in many languages basically translates to black or dark complected.

One can only wonder why use of the inflammatory term by blacks evokes so much resentment from neanderthals who post blogs like this.

Why does it matter so much to them what Jesse Jackson thinks about Barack Obama and the terms he used in voicing his personal distaste toward another of his own race?

If it's really that important to them, one might conclude that they seek any validation of their own prejudices, viewing a certain black's poor opinion of another black like Obama - whom they don't like - as a sort of backassward affirmation of their own bigotry.

Maybe, BS, it's as simple as this:

I had a gal work for me in Libreville (used to be Stanleyville of Dr. Livingstone I presume fame). She was a beautiful black highly intelligent gal. Named Anna Bossman. She wanted me to pay her out of a non-Gabonaise payroll. When I asked her why, she just said "I'm better than the Gabonaise". OK.... I can pay you out of Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), even a Ghanaian or Luandan payroll. Told her she could even tell people she was Cuban out of the Luandan (Angolan) payroll (we had some operatives down there too). Ghana was out (they were not much better than Gabonaise (just palace guards for Premier Bongo) according to her, so we settled on Cote d'Ivoire.

That worked for awhile until she decided I had to pay her out of London. She just kept telling me she was better than "those people". It was so weird. She wanted to disassociate herself from all Africans. She was better.

I finally set her up to pay her out of Richmond E&P payroll (London) so she could tell people she was really British (and show them her check stubs I guess).

Point is, just like the tribesmen in Africa that would make hellacisous cuts on their faces to differentiate themselves from their "brother and sister" Africans (who looked just like them), they wanted to differentiate themselves from each other so they could think they were better and even wage war on each other.....

Is that the "whiteman's" fault? I think not..........

I saw a poll that said race relations have really gotten worse since Obama became a candidate. And I can tell you that a good part of it is from people who have never owned a slave or even dissed a black person, who now feel like all this crap is being shoved down their collective throats.

People who didn't think much about race in the past, who judged others by their character, are now rebelling because they are being constantly confronted with this phony issue. And phony it is -- or at least it should be.

No good will come of all this emphasis on race, trust me on that....... I've witnessed it in my own family........

No one has pointed out the emotional charge we allow words to have. They are merely sounds strung together, yet their power is often daunting. I can say "hunt" or "car," but if we put the c where the h is-- WHAMMO, you've got a word with a high charge.

I'm interested in black people who do not use the word by conscious choice, and those who do use it regularly. That would make a great discussion.

I worked at BHS for several years and the kids used it often--but as a term of endearment, really. Kids of other races who were tight with the black kids were "approved" to use it too. Hearing "What's up, my n***a" was always said with a smile. But the earlier point is true--it must end with the "a" sound, not the "er."

I do not allow my children to say anything nasty. My children can not even say lie....they have to say telling a story. I am not the type of person that sits back and allows my children to treat others bad. That means blacks, whites, brown, handicap people...it does not matter. You couldn't pay one of my children to laugh at an overweight person or a mentally retarded person...that is not how I operate. I have very well mannered good kids. I have never heard my children say anything derogatory towards whites or Hispanics. I have heard my youngest son say N*gg*. He was singing a rap song. I won't tell what I did to him but he will never say the word again. I allow my children to form their own opinions about others. My kids have experienced racism. I explain to them this world is full of ignorant people. There are people in this world that will treat you bad for no reason at all. There are people that will treat you bad simply for being black or white. I preach to them do not allow anyone to crush your dreams or goals. I told my daughter the other day...you can be whatever you want to be......if you set your mind to it. I treat everyone with respect. My grandma told me years ago....people talked about God and called him names so what makes you think people aren't going to call you names...The N word is a nasty word and it causes unnecessary problems.

As a kid, me and my white friends called each the N word almost daily. We had no clue it was offensive, I knew no blacks and until middle school didn't have any as classmates. If my mom heard one of us use the word we were scolded but not really punished, this was in the late fifties. The only time my children said the N word in my presence occurred one day when my daughter , about 4, came running in the house saying ' there's N's moving in the neighborhood" we both almost fell out. I ask her if she knew what that meant and she said " No, but Rey said there was a bunch of them moving in". I don't like or use the word because blacks find it offensive, plain and simple. Timec I bet I used similar methods on my kids, probably illegal now.

In fact, I am not a fan of Jackson.

I believe Obama to be an honorable person deserving of basic courtesy and respect from Jackson, as well as our homegrown smear campaigner, BakersfieldSuperman.

A review of the daily proliferation of insulting BS spamposts clearly indicates his hatred for Obama and liberal supporters which exceeds any civility or intelligence which might questionably be buried beneath his baseless inferences, rants and diatribes.
