<description>TAFT, CA - Wednesday, February 4th 2009 at approximately 12:50 P.M., a call was received by the Kern County Fire Department for a house fire in the 200 block of Monroe Street in Ford City, Taft.&amp;nbsp; Approximately 13 Kern County Firefighters responded to the incident.

Upon arrival, crews were faced with a developing fire in the kitchen and rear bedroom of the 1200 sq ft home which was heavily involved with fire and smoke. The first engine crew made an attack on the fire while other crews assisted with establishing a water supply and protecting adjacent structures from fire spread.
