Last week, the bloodmobile visited the Bakersfield Adult School.&nbsp; I encouraged my students to give, and jokingly asked them to bring me their cookie (as payment for being allowed out of my class&mdash;as giving blood was less painful than 30 minutes in my class).&nbsp; And bless their hearts; I got cookies from almost every one of them!&nbsp; I wasn&rsquo;t serious about it and made sure they had something to eat, but yes, they asked for extra and the kind people from the blood bank gave them extra cookies to &ldquo;play along&rdquo; with my poor humor.&nbsp; &nbsp; Well, you&rsquo;re heard of blood for oil, now it&rsquo;s blood for cookies.&nbsp; &nbsp; And also, I am running for President . . .
