A Bit of Germany has really good food.  I am a fan of their Cabbage Rolls and Schnitzel sandwich.  You don't have to be a connoisseur of German food as another reviewer said.  You just have to be willing to try new things and ask questions.  The staff there would be more than happy to explain what the different dishes are.  If you like meatloaf, the cabbage roll is a great alternative.  And if you like porkchops, go for the schnitzel.  If you enjoy sausage go for any of the "Wurst" dishes. At the end of your meal, I would suggest ordering a helping of the streusel for dessert.

My job moved me to the Bay Area several years ago, but I still make a point of returning to Bakersfield a couple of times a year for a visit.  Bit of Germany was a regular destination when I lived in Bakersfield, and now it is a long distance destination.  I really love the variety of authentic German food, and the atmosphere is great, too.  Where else can you have a schnitzel and watch the chicken dance at the same time.  Wonderful!  And it's well worth the drive.
