Shout out to Scott (my co-worker and the owners son).
Enjoy the food and friendly people.

On a good day, you will walk into Caesar's Deli and see a blonde shaggy haired kid who does not seem one bit Italian. His name is Greg and he is the owner’s son and the greatest custom sandwich creator known to man. When you first walk up to Caesar's Deli it is very inviting. There is a water fountain and people eating at the tables out front. Inside there are several tables with chairs and a counter along the front windows to sit that has a perfect view of the water fountain. On both sides of the room there are shelves with various dried pastas, olive oils, cooking ingredients, and cookies. Above the serving counter hangs the chalkboard listing their wide variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, and pastas. They are very reasonable priced; you can get any sandwich, salad or chips, and a drink for around seven dollars. Caesar’s Deli is also full service deli and they sell various meats and cheeses, some imported from Italy. They have been voted the Best Deli in Bakersfield by the Bakersfield Californian reader's poll numerous times. They have been family owned since 1970. The original location is 2828 Niles Street, and is still open today.
The last time I had the pleasure of dining at the Caesar’s Deli on Brimhall, I decided to try the combo, the sandwich has lettuce, peppers, roast beef, and pickled tongue, and the macaroni salad. The lettuce was very fresh, and had a good heaping portion of meat on it. Though the pickled tongue might scare many away, everybody should try it at least once. My friend, who doesn't appreciate fine Italian delicacies, decided to try the deep pit beef sandwich with bbq sauce, and the ranch potato salad. The lady taking our order said the ranch potato salad goes well with the deep pit beef sandwich. It came steaming hot and smelled exactly like I imagine heaven would smell. The bbq sauce was sweet and went well with the seasoning in the deep pit beef. You can also get it with salsa, which I’ve heard is almost as good as the bbq sauce. The ranch potato salad looked very good, even though I didn’t get to try it. My friend said there were large chunks of potatoes and had a very strong ranch flavor to it. We got our food in about 3 minutes, which was very quick considering the amount of people in there at noon. Even with all the tables filled and the line almost out the door it never got too loud in there. You could easily still hold a casual conversation. We decided to take advantage of their outdoor seating because of the beautiful weather that day and it was a bit quieter. The water fountain created a very calm and relaxing atmosphere.
As well as being a sandwich shop and full service deli they also have a large catering menu. They will cater groups as small as twenty and large enough for wedding receptions. They do sandwich platters, tri-tip, deep pit beef, chicken prepared various ways, lasagna, ravioli, zita, and mostaciolli. They also have party trays which come with different meats, cheeses, olives, pickles, peppers, and sourdough bread.
I highly recommend Caesar’s deli to anybody looking for a delicious, moderately priced meal. They have some plain American food, along with fine Italian sandwiches and pastas. Even the pickiest of eaters can find something they will enjoy when they come into Caesar’s Italian Delicatessen.
