The bread was really old when I went, but everything else was good.

I like a good deli sandwich from time to time. My favorite is Italian Dry Salami with mild Cheddar or American cheese on a hard roll with lettuce, mayo and mustard (the yellow stuff). For some reason Bakersfield doesn't seem to know what a hard roll is, so a soft sesame seed covered roll usually will have to suffice. When I order the above mentioned sandwich at most local franchised operations I usually have to remind the order taker not to add anything else like pickles, jalapenos, oil or tomatoes as they just can't believe I wouldn't want a salad on my sandwich like everyone else. Not so at Cease rs. I order it just like I want it and guess what? That's the way I get it, and fast, really fast! The first time I went in and ordered I hadn't even finished getting my self serve soda and my sandwich was ready. I know they didn't have it preprepared because no one I know likes what I order. I watched in amazement as other patrons received their orders quickly as well. The portion of salami is the key for me. Too little and all I taste is bread. This was just right. I'll be back to try some of their other offerings. By the number of patrons at lunch on a weekday I'd say Ceasers in Rosedale is a hit.

I have been eating at Caesar's since the day I was introduced to it in 1993. Back then it was a small shop on Niles, now it's grown into the large sandwich shop it always should have been. With me sandwiches start with one thing... the bread, and Caesar's knocks it out of the park every time. Fantastic breads... very fresh and tasty meats... and the perfect combinations of veggies and cheeses to top it off. Try it for lunch soon, you won't be disappointed.

Always a good sandwich at Caesar's! The new locale is um... cozy but you can eat outside by a big fountain for some fresh air and that Italian feeling. They have an interesting mix of salads and pickled things to compliment your sandwich. The service is fast and freindly. Did I mention always a great sandwich on fresh bread.
