Beware!!! This place is a total rip off. Only because Noriega Hotel is closed on Monday did we look for another Basque place to patronize.
The oriental new owner had absolutely NO IDEA what she was serving, or of the rich local culture. My four collegues and I have lunch with no drinks for $80. I ordered roast lamb and got oxtail stew.
I grew up on Basque food prepared by the local Basque community, and Chalet Basque has absolutely NO RIGHT to claim themselves as a Basque resturaunt, nor consider themselves part of the local Basque community.
We should have tried Amestoy's, I hear they are serving lunches now.
To me, you just can't beat Bernadette, a bowlful of soup, and a bottle of freshly stamped wine.

This bar's patrons love its jukebox and as evening turns to night, the carpet between round tables can turn into a makeshift dance floor.
On first glance, the bar looks like what's you might expect a traditionally Basque restaurant's bar to look like: Dark wood, framed images of scenes from the Old Country and cushioned booths along the walls.
But on weekends, the young, sometimes dressy crowd might deviate from expectations. Many of the regulars seem to know each other and sometimes congregate on the outdoor patio.
Chalet has a good vibe and high energy on weekends, though it can get crowded and loud in a nightclub standing-room-only sort of way. A good place to go for a dose of youthful energy.

We called in an order and totally got shafted. They didn't give us any salsa or bread, and one order was completely left out. We called the place back to explain the problem, and they said that the guy who picked it up was really rude. The guy who picked up the order wouldn't say crap even if he had mouth full of it, so we knew that they were lying. We asked if we could come back and pick up the stuff that they left out of the order, and they hung up on us. Giving them the benefit of the doubt (you know, like an accidental hang-up), we called back again. Once again, they hung up on us. I drove back to this so-called restaurant with the food and asked for our money back. The woman at the counter said "Hold on," and I think every employee vanished. There was no one to be found. And I wasn't even being loud or angry--I just wanted the money back since we didn't get what we asked for and paid for. After about five minutes, another person came back, I showed him my receipt and asked for my money, and he said that I was given everything that I paid for. By this time, the food was cold and I was tired of arguing. So I went to the bar and ordered a shot and a beer. Upon serving me, the bartender said "It'll be $8.50." I slammed down the shot, chugged the beer, and instead of giving him money, I gave him the box of cold food that we ordered. I thought that seemed fair.
