China Bistro is where I was introduced to orange chicken for the first time, about 10 years ago. My wife and I, then my wife and my family visit CB a few times a month, to where the ladies behind the counter know us by sight. I am now hooked on orange chicken due to China Bistro.
We've sampled the teryiaki, orange, sweet and sour, and BBQ chicken/pork, as well as their soup and eggrolls over the years. The orange chicken is my families favorite, but its not perfect. My wife and I grade the food as either a "good batch" or a "bad batch". Sometimes the orange chicken is cooked perfectly. Each piece on the tray is eaten and devoured. Some days, the chicken is hard as a rock and just plain chewy and you need to spit them out. This would be a "bad batch". Its hit an miss. The teryiaki chicken is always good as is the BBQ pork. The rice (steamed and fried) is always cooked just right as well.
With a family of five, cheap eats are a must these days and CB is one of the best of its kind west of Ashe Rd and south of Stockdale Hwy.
The only drawbacks are that the food is prepared ahead of time, btu is served quickly! Don't get behind someone who has never been to CB before, this will cause a major pile-up of returning customers rolling their eyes at the rookie orderer :)
If you like cheap eats for the family, I completely recommend China Bistro.
