Coco's is similar in style and price to Marie Callendar's or Baker's Square. The restaurant on Rosedale Hwy was briefly very popular when it first opened a few years ago and then seemed to settle into mediocrity with a rather limited menu that was adequate but not particularly interesting. After a lengthy interval between visits my wife and I were happily surprised to find a number of new menu choices, better service and an overall atmosphere that was much more pleasant than some previous visits had been. The angus top sirloin steak I ordered was cooked as specified and both tender and tasty. A very good piece of meat properly prepared. The second entree of shrimp and lobster linguine was also very good. The bread brought before the meal was fresh and good. My wife's salmon with lobster butter was very good. The one lapse in the meal was the vegetables, which as often happens in restaurant service, were too soft to be tender-crisp, but not tender enough to be fully cooked. Restaurants seldom get mixed vegetables right. Overall though, the meal was good, the service was good, and the pies were pretty even if we didn't have room to indulge in a slice.
