Preface: I have had pets all of my life. My last two cats (Bentley and Bully) moved all across the country with my for the past 16/17 years! The avatar for my profile is a quilt I made in honor of my last cat (bully). I have always loved my pets and made every sacrifice to care for them as though they were my own children. The following is a true story, un-embellished by emotion:
I took a pet to Coffee Road Animal Hostpial three times, twice for accidental injuries incurred while playing with another, larger pet (also mine). On the second visit I was obviously exhausted and distraught having stayed up all night on the floor with the poor thing. I took the pet in the first thing in the morning (they have standard business hours so I had to mis work to do so) and had the pet examined. They provided an "estimate" of servies (and prices) and sent me home to await the news. "Dr." Mischke was the attending vet.
I received a call about 4 hours later to inform me of two things: 1) That the pet had suffered a fracture of a hind leg- I was heartbroken. 2) That they were essentially KEEPING the pet! They claimed (after this SINGLE incident) that I wasn't capable of providing a "safe environment". "Dr." Mischke was rude and had absolutely no compassion for the situation. She then proceeded to tell me that, in her opinion, this was a second injury- she believed the pet had another, older injury (?!) which she all but accused me of doing.
The truth is that the pet had an impacted tooth which had caused an infection- something THEY diagnosed and THEY treated!! In fact, since the day I had rescued the pet Coffee Road Animal Hospital was the only care provider (and beneficiary of almost $1000 in bills). I couldn't believe what I was hearing: Suddenly the ailment that I PAID them to diagnose & treat was now something else (based on a guess) and thusly became a reason to force me to give them the pet. When I tried to explain to them that I also had another healthy and happy pet (also under their care) "Dr." Mischke cut me off with a speech about how pets are "just like children" and require the same if not more care than she thought I was able to give. She was condescending and rude.
Over-all, the entire staff was cold and indifferent since I am certain I was labled an animal abuser in their office- the tone from everyone I spoke to was more than clear; one woman who answered the phone put me on hold the moment I said my name without so much as a pleasantry. They made a lot of money, provided minimal (and inaccurate) care and managed to get a free pet in the bargain.
The business is irresponsible, "Dr." Mischke is a fraud and I wouldn't trust them to euthanize a pet much less care for it's well-being.

I'm surprised by the 1-star reviews. We've been taking our two dogs to this vet office for exactly ten years, and we've been quite happy with their level of care. Both dogs were altered as pups and both surgeries (neuter by Dr. Hammans, spay by Dr. Mischke) went perfectly, with a fair price charged for each. Yearly routine checkups have always been handled conveniently (we can bring both dogs at once), we never feel rushed during the appointments, and we're always asked which vet we'd like them to be seen by. One of our dogs is rather odd in that she always manages to come down with exotic ailments (e.g. stick-tight poultry fleas, odd warty growths, tooth abscess), and yet both Dr. Hammans and Dr. Mischke has been good at quickly diagnosing and treating her issues. More recently, we had both dogs checked for the first time by Dr. Hamilton, and we were very impressed with her expertise (she surgically removed a large cyst from one dog and treated the other dog for a mysterious liver disorder). Facilities have never been dirty when we've visited, and the vet techs seem quite capable and are pleasant to deal with.
This winter our neighbor's dog was hit by a car in front of his house, and on our advice he went to this office for the emergency (his regular vet was in Wasco). It was a Saturday morning and he said it was crazy busy there, but he, too, was impressed with the entire episode--quick attention, excellent surgery, good follow-up care. If there's one complaint he and we have, it's that veterinary prices are sky-high! Then again, so are human medicine prices....

Worst Vet experience of my cats life (and mine!) I had one previous positive experience with this office, Dr. Hammans was quite good. I think prices are fair, but will not return to this office or recommend this office following a horrifying experience with Dr. Mishkie. It took her 8 "sticks" trying to get a simple blood draw from my cat before they took her out of my view, but not out of my earshot. She has herniated discs, which I explained, but the manhandling was tremendously painful. I understand some cats are "fighters" but not THIS cat. Excessive force was used, for which the doctor reported she'll need to take narcotics for now. She had not experienced back pain for literally 2 years prior to this visit. I don't trust their expertise, and strongly encourage all pet lovers to find another vet for service. I myself am now looking for a trusted practicitioner for my cat.
