It was the Christmas parade and I went with my bf, coworker and her husband. We have been wanting to try Dagny’s since I had heard about it from my professors and a former owner. After hearing all this praise over a coffee shop, we couldn't wait to try some of their coffee. The line was very long but understandable given the circumstances. By the time I go to order the lady at the counter asks me what would I like I start to tell her and she just walks away to grab the phone, I already had a bad vibe since she didn't even say excuse me or any thing but then when I told her I wanted a vanilla latte with chocolate she just looks at me confused and starts to write something on a piece of paper and she asks me do you mean a mocha with vanilla syrup. I told her either way its the same I just want my latte to be flavored with chocolate and vanilla then I go on to tell her my second order is a vanilla latte with caramel syrup with whip no foam and she again looks at me confused and repeats no foam? I don't know if it was the first time she had ever had a customer ask for a latte with no foam before but she sure didn't make me feel confident that my beverage would be accurate.
So I pay her and after a few minutes I ask the male Barista (who later after we said that we knew Bill and Kelly because they own Ristrittos on the first floor of the building we work at he said oh so you know them then you'd know Kelly is dead. I don't know why or how he could say that so heartlessly since it hadn't been long ago since she had past away.) Well I asked him if he could put my friend, Vanessa's coffee drinks with mine on a tray and he started to mention that my friends drink isn't a traditional caramel latte that it was espresso shots and steamed milk. So I told Vanessa that she should talk to him and he explained to her that it would be 60 more cents for the syrups but she was already upset because she had explained to the lady exactly what she had wanted and out popped a different result so I tried to smooth things over by thanking the guy for letting us know after the fact and that we could still fix it and I handed him a dollar to pay for my friends extra syrups though I don't even remember getting change back but after we had gotten back to the parade My bf, her husband, Vanessa and I really disliked the coffee. We didn't like the espresso shots, and I am not sensitive to coffee because I used to work at a Starbucks, I've tasted many different types of coffee black or flavored.
The ending result of the coffee he had made was terrible. So we decided to take our coffee drinks back and get a refund for it was very hard to consume. My friend had asked for her refund first and the man asks her what was wrong with it? She explains that she didn't like it.
He asks her, "well was it to syrup did I not put enough? What was wrong with it?"
She just said "I don't know, it just tasted like crap."
Then he starts degrading my friend saying "oh you have tasted crap before! I sure haven't."
He turns to his coworkers asking "have you tasted crap before? Have you? No sorry I don't know what crap tastes like so I don't know what to tell you, since you have worked at Starbucks before you should've known the difference you can go to the Starbucks on Elm."
We were shocked by the way he was treating us. She even told him that it wasn't her that had worked there that it was me who did but he proceeded to say snide remarks to my friend even though there were a lot of people in the store. Then I go to get my refund but I had paid with cash so I didn't have my receipt, she wasn't going to give me a refund but then the Barista said just give her 6.20 that's the total for two lattes but I know that wasn't enough because I had added the extra syrups and an extra shot so I was shorted money for that plus the dollar I had given him for my friends extra syrup.
The lady gathered my change and then had the audacity to throw it at my face, that's when I finally said, "I couldn't believe the way they were treating us."
The male Barista just sarcastically said "Merry Christmas!"
Honestly that was the most rotten customer service I have ever experienced. I have returned a poor drink to a Starbucks before and never have they been rude. They are actually happy to fix a beverage because every good business knows that the customer is always right otherwise you lose them.
I don't think that by me asking for a refund deserves money thrown at, after all of the snide remarks and the lady's actions I sure hope someone does something about this atrocious customer service.
