 I'm all about supporting local businesses, but in Bakersfield, it just seems like no one can get it right. I've ate at DK's once; the service was fine, but the food was quite displeasing. The orange juice was not fresh squeezed & I felt like I was at a dirty truck stop cafe.

But think about it when your out of town and you walk into a restaurant and nobody is there eating,,,  doesn't that make you wonder? it makes me want to find a place that is busy. Donna Kaye's Cafe is busy for a reason.

My husband doesn't eat breakfast, so I decided to treat myself one day. I heard about another place, but they were on vacation. I drove around town, and turned into Donna Kaye's. I had never heard of it, but was hungry.Wow! I went back the next morning. The mini-ham special was excellent, the service great, and the atmosphere nice. It was so crowded on Sunday that I sat at the counter. Good move, as I then could talk to a couple out for the morrning treat.  I highly recommend this place, but only because she deserves it. I'd like to keep it my secret, but too late. Others have found it before me. Great price for food, also.
