My family had always hoped that the Park at Riverwalk and its shops would lean towards a Downtown Disney style theme.  Although a Target is going in destroying that idea, The Elephant Bar is as close to our dream idea as can be.

From the inviting atmosphere, the decorations, and the lighting, as well as the comfy private booths in back to your normal tables, your family, including the kids are ready for a nice evening.

I have eaten at the Elephant Bar about a dozen times and I have yet to have a bad experience.  Our slowest service just happened to be on a school fundraiser evening, but the place was packed and the EB slow is still fast compared to other similar fare. 

I'm not to adventurous in my menu selections, and have settled down to two favorites.  The Smokehouse and the Caesar chicken Salad.  Both are huge portions and filled my large frame up nicely.  The kids menu is also good and the portions are sizable (unlike other locations that give your kids a single bite).  With a family of five, we don't visit often, but when we want to "treat" ourselves out to a sit-down restaurant, The Elephant Bar is our first choice.  On nights we can't eat here, we enjoy driving by and smelling its distinct and wonderful aromas from our car as we drive by.

Make sure you sign up for their promotions and email coupons and definately try their cookie desert.  I forget the name of it, but two large chocolate chip cookies with a slab of vanilla ice-cream in the middle.  Good for the whole family to share.

We entered this beautiful restaurant as a party of ten; we were all in awe of our tropical surroundings. The restaurant is located at the intersection of Calloway and Stockdale, a prime area sharing location with other renowned restaurants such as California Pizza Kitchen, P.F. Chang’s, and B.J.’s. The atmosphere is one of elegance, its best features are its large fans that t keep the restaurant cool and its elephant statues, all while remaining true to the its oriental essence.  The Elephant Bar is   very concerned with presentation in all aspects of its business. Directly outside is a courtyard with a large fountain centerpiece; it offers those who have to sit outside for whatever reason, a peaceful and serene setting to do so. As you enter the restaurant, you must do so by pulling on the doors adorned with elephant faces. The lighting offers an intimate and fun setting for couples or friends who dine there.  The booths are large and inviting, the seats fashioned with fine prints and accented by large dark cherry wood tables. Someone who comes alone can be expected to enjoy themselves at the fully stocked and large bar area that includes a television or two for entertainment. All around are references to the Asian theme of the restaurant.            

As you are seated, the waiter or waitress assist you with a fine menu of what the restaurant serves. It didn’t look like a regular menu, this menu was the exciting thing ever and had every thing to Deserts, Soups, Sandwiches, Burgers, Prime Rib, Seafood and also any salad you could even think of. I love the menu they had, because it didn’t even take me along time to find what I wanted to eat. We were given a waitress that goes by the name of Jackie, guessing on how I remembered the name was how good and well her service was. She gave us really good service, but it really gave her a little problem on how big this party was but nothing big. She gave us more than enough time to select what we all wanted, and served us all with water before we all was given our food. She was very good on memory and amusing. Any other place I attended with a big party, never gave us good service like the Elephant Bar. All there employees were extremely helpful. For that being my first time it’s not my last, I really enjoyed my self from the food being wonderful, and from having very good service. Now I'm really having good thoughts on having a dinner party at that location.  I give this restaurant a high quality rating.

Lets now talk about the food that I chose and I was given, when I say it was the best-selected item I ever picked I really met that. I chose the Smokehouse BBQ Chicken Sandwich, which was served with fries and was just under ten dollars meaning, I went to this amazing restaurant and only spent less then ten bucks “WOW”.  When we were sitting there just the name was making me desire this sandwich so bad because, the smell of all the food the chefs were making smelled so magnificent. Finally our food arrived and everyone’s dish looked very good and wanted, but my dish was making my mouth water just by the looks of it. The smell of the BBQ sauce that the chefs put on it, made me feel like I was back at home at a family BBQ. I could not wait to take my first bite. The cheese was calling my name all melted with the sauce just dipping down reminding myself if I was looking at a Carl Jr. commercial. When I go to restaurants I usually take some food home but there was nothing left to take “ WOW that was the first”. This was the best place that I been to in a long time.  I recommend people to go out some day in try this place out. If you were thinking about going, please try the amazing Smokehouse BBQ Chicken Sandwich it’s the best idem ever you will not be disappointed at all.
