The atmosphere was great, and the service super courteous. The wait for the food and for drink refills was a little long, but that's understandable given the very large number of diners.
We had the brisket and the pulled pork. (We're going to sample each of the KCBS meat categories before trying the other menu offerings.)
The pork was great, sauced and seasoned just right. My brisket was respectable, a little more tender and flavorful than my wife's serving of brisket, but neither disappointed.
Prices are high, but that is to be expected. True barbecue is not cheap and never will be. It comes with the territory.
We'll be back.

For my first time there, I was impressed. Shy as I am, each time the wait staff brought out trash can lids full of food chanting "FEAST!" I shrunk in the booth. Luckily I didn't order a "feast." But I did order one of the least-expensive meat combos (rib tips, $10.99) and got a MUCH fuller plate than my date, who ordered a two-meat combo (ribs and brisket, $17.99). I went home with what felt like a 5-pound box of leftovers! I loved the green beans and sweet mashed potatoes sides. And the various barbecue sauces were fun to the taste at the table. Definitely a place to take friends or family. And the service was excellent.

I can only give three stars based on the fact that what I had was eaten and served at home. Today was my birthday and my mom and dad surprised me with a thick slab of Famous Dave's Bread Pudding. It came pre packaged with instructions, but most of all, it was pretty darn good. Actually pretty darn good doesn't quite explain it. It may be because I haven't had dessert in ages (eating disorder) but I ate most of this piece and licked the plate clean...seriously. The pecan caramel sauce was delectable, the ice cream was creamy and smooth, and the pudding itself- HEAVEN. It was great being at home without the waiters hovering over your shoulder as you blow out a candle and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't of been able to have licked the plate....My dad said the lady that helped him out was a little slow but whatever. THE BREAD PUDDING HAD ME AT FIRST BITE!!!

Dave's continues to draw a big dinner crowd most evenings. We tried the BBQ Tour, which samples four of the featured BBQ meats. We also had a bowl of Dave's chili. Everything was fine, but nothing was special or great or outstanding. If you want a big meal, the tour will meet the bill, but if you want great taste, Dave's isn't all that interesting. The food is OK, but nothing special, and no bargain.

Went there last night, service was so-so, food not bad, but way overpriced for warming up ribs, chicken and putting them on a plate (trash can lid). none of the food is cooked to order. spent $75 for three people, save your money or go to Tahoe Joes instead for a much better meal. You would think spending $25/person would include a salad, but no.

This place was awesome! I have to admit, I don't usually go for the whole bar-b-cue scene with restaurants, but now Famous Daves will be seeing my face more often! Their staff is more then helpful, and definitely keeps the customers entertained. They all have great attitudes and will help with anything. That's only a little of what makes Famous Daves great. The food is out of this world. I loved the food and their meat is cooked to perfection. I do hear from people that it can be hard at times to get in, but for myself, the times I went we were sat right away.

I grew up in the American South.. and If you want good BBQ, stick to the locals like Mr. Tibbs - it's rare that BBQ chains get it right. The best warning sign is that you shouldn't be getting your meat soaked in sauce! Why would they have 5 different sauces to choose from and then not let you make your own decision on what you want and how much?
I'm honestly surprised that this place is always so packed. If you actually want to throw away your money, at least go through take-out instead.

My Southern husband and I really enjoyed Dave's. We thought the brisket was wonderful - easily matching some of the best I had when I lived in Texas (where they take brisket very seriously). We enjoyed the different variations of sauce - although the brisket (sorry to bring it up again) was so good it didn't need sauce. Ribs aren't my favorite type of Q but my husband thought they were above average. I guess they have fixed the service problems because our service was fine. We will definitely eat here again.

The first time my husband and I went we waited and waited for our food. When the waitress casually walked by our table she had an 'Oh!' look on her face and went to find out where our food was. She brought it out and it was COLD. We told her, she found the manager, and he didn't charge us at all for the entire meal. Plus, they threw in a chocolate brownie/ice cream dessert to go (which was horrible, actually).
On our second visit the service was better and the food pretty good. We liked the BBQ chicken sandwich, the pork ribs, the brisket sandwich. My husband didn't care for any of the sauces... said they were all too sweet.

Well, this was by far, the worst service i have ever received from a restaurant. First, the food was not all that great! Drinks were not made well at all. Service was hideous! We were there for a birthday party and when asked to bring the cake out, the cake was brought out with no knife and every dish that was brought out was wet and dirty with what looked like something out of someone's nose! When i told her the plates were wet, she replied, "wet means clean!" We almost fell out of the booth! With that being said, we didnt get any cake and she was left with no tip on a very big bill! Never going back!
