I have only been there once. The food was good, but the service was terrible.  I went with a group of fellow employees and almost all of our orders were incorrect.  A week later other employees went and received the same kind of service "terrible". Wrong orders and no apologies from the staff. I wrote a letter to the corporate office and was told they would forward my complaint to the local resturant and have them contact me.  To date I still have heard nothing....I don't think I will be going back!!

Had to try heard really good things about them and were One of the top 10 BBQ places to eat according to FOOD NETWORK - Famous Dave's EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!! will contiune to go there when ever I am in the mood for BBQ, Best I ever had, Service was Great our waitress keep coming and asking us was everything okay, I had the Rib Tips and she explained what I was getting and they were a little fatty but really good flavor, Recommend this place to anyone who LOVES BBQ - Hope you all enjoy like me and my family did. My son says build one or two or three in San Jose, CA

We went there around 11 a.m. on a Saturday.  The service staff was very friendly.  Unfortunately, I was not impressed by the food.  I ordered the rib tips and maybe that was not the best thing to order.  They had a lot of fat and the meat was not very tender.  Perhaps I should have just ordered the regular ribs, but that meal was enough to where I wouldn't make the drive back (live on East side).  It just was not as good as Hungry Hunter's or Fabious' ribs.  I think maybe there was so much hype about the place that I expected better, but it just didn't live up to all the hype.

I have only visited here one time. I was suprised to find out that they did not offer tri-tip. I understand that tri-tip is a California thing, still I was suprised. They also happened to be out of chicken on the night I dined their. I ended up having brisket and a hot-link. As expected the brisket was bland and fairly tasteless. Luckily they had more BBQ sauces than IHOP has pancake syrup, so I was able to spice it up a bit. As far as the hot-link goes... let's just say calling it a hot-link borders on false advertisement. Probably one of the most interesting moments was when I discovered a small dish of a mysterious looking concoction on my plate. I was sitting next to the bar so I asked the bartender what it might be. The look on her face was priceless as she responded, "I have no idea, what did you order? I have never seen anything like that before." Needless to say I was no more confident about trying it after talking to her than before. My server finally cleared up the mystery, apparently it was some sort of relish to dip the not-so-hot-link in.

I think the service there was average. Nothing really jumped out at me as being good or bad. I do remember the hostess using some corny phrase as she was taking us to our table. I also thought it was odd that if a party ordered a certain platter that the server and all other employeess would chant "FEAST FEAST FEAST" as the order was being delivered. The cookie cutter "ROADHOUSE" style decor with old hubcaps and fake old Americana signs all over the walls is really played out.  

As far as prices go, I think they were high. But everything is high these days. Still I didn't feel like it was a great value for my dollar. Overall I was OK. I likely will not return for quite a while. Presently there are several other choices for BBQ  in Bakersfield that are superior to what I experienced at Famous Daves.
