I did not the food was bad. What I did say it was not worth $10.00 for the lunch buffet! There was a limited selection of food, no salad bar and no Mexican condiments such as peppers, onions, carrots or cilantro. No warm tortillas.
Maybe the menu items are a better selection.
Most Mexican restaurants are known by their lunch buffets and this one is lacking for the price. Check out Anita's on California Ave.

Very impressed!!! I have to say, I was a bit nervous trying this new place since I was a customer before the change, but definitely glad they switched owners! Everything looks different from the new decor, great food & even the workers. They're all young & yet professional & very attentive.
I went on a Wednesday during my lunch break with a couple of my co workers, the lunch buffet they offer isn't like every other mexican place, every item on there is soo good and it's only $9! I was told they change a few of their options daily, so you don't get the same thing everyday.
I went back for dinner on a Friday night and was glad to see that they offer live music, there was a live salsa band playing. My friends & I enjoyed dinner + Great live music, couldn't get any better! And our waiter (1 of the 4 brothers) gave us a run down on my new place, turns out it's family owned & operated! Who doesn't like to support local businesses?!! I know i will definitely come back and tell everyone I know. And don't be afraid to try the different variety they offer on their menu, this restaurant is not afraid to think outside the box :)
2 Thumbs up! & the best of luck for the Ocampo family & Camino Real!

I took my girlfriend out to dinner at Camino Real after reading the reviews on this website, and boy were these reviews spot on! That was by far the BEST Mexican Food in Bakersfield, hands down. Now for the review of the Food:
Whenever my girlfriend and I go out to mexican food, we HAVE to try to the guacamole, and let me tell you, This place easily has the BEST Guacamole in Bakersfield. They don't load the guacamole with a ton of onions and tomatoes like most restaurants, and instead they leave you with an excellent tasting Guac. We asked for ours to be a little spicy and it was AWESOME.
For our entrees, I had the Orange Chicken Burrito (with added spicyness) and let me tell you, that is ONE thing I never expected to have at a Mexican restaurant., but they sure pulled it off. It was sweet and spicy at the same time, and always flavorful. I'd give it an (8/10).
My Girlfriend had the PepperJack Shrimp and I've never had something so flavorful. This was both of our favorite. I haven't seen a dish like this anywhere else in town. It was absolutely GREAT! I caught myself stealing shrimp of her plate. I would be so bold as to also label this the BEST Shrimp Dish in Bakersfield. I'd give it a (12/10) I can't stress enough how great this dish was.
Also, I'd like to note that the service was excellent, even when they were having to serve 2 large parties (About 30-40 people in all). The owner of the restaurant came over to apologize for the wait (even though they didn't take long at all). I thought that was very nice, The owner also brought out some soup for us to taste, free of charge.
It should also be noted that the salsa, while lacking a real spicy kick, was fresh, as though it had just been made.
Overall, This place has all the makings of a Great restaurant, Get in there before they get too popular! I'll definitely be back! (and I spread the word to all the friends and family) ;]
