Just ate at J's Place for the first time. It will not be my last. I think this is now my favorite place to eat. WOW... I had the catfish, black eyed peas and mashed potatoes with gravy. Everything was perfect. Portions were large and the food was really, really good. I complimented my waitress (who I found out was the owner) on how good the food was. She asked if it was my first time there. I said yes. She brought me some hot peach cobler on the house. Just so I knew how good their dessert was. I am stuffed full... I am counting the minutes till I can eat there again. If you have not been there, you owe it to yourself to go there. Your stomach will thank you.

Um, yeah. If you haven't gone, you need to stop reading now and go to J's. The fried chicken is fantastic (i.e. juicy, meaty, not oily, and flavor-full). The waffles are everything I thought they should be. I mention the chicken-n-waffle because that's the core of J's. It's the menu item that I consistently order and never get bored of. Fortunately, over time the staff have exposed me to almost all the other items and I can only sit back each time and wonder, in such a small kitchen, how can the cooks at J's turn out such a wide, tasty, and consistent product? Never a bad meal. Just writing makes me wanna go again.

YES! Best meatloaf EVER! You know it's good food when you don't stop eating even though you know you were full ten forkfulls ago. So here's the story... I ordered the meatloaf lunch special (only $7, which is a great price) which includes a lot of homemade meatloaf (a lil' spicy, full of flavor and perfect consistency... neither too moist or too dry), fabulous peppered corn, mashed potatoes and delicious cornbread. I ate every little bit of it! This place is awesome. They need more dining space because everyone seems to know how good the food is, the place is busy, but luckily we didn't have to wait for a table. Service is good, friendly staff and the food is AWESOME. GO!!!! Go NOW!
