I like Mexican food and being from Bakersfield have tried quite a few restaurants. I would encourage you to try the beef and chicken dishes and make sure to get the enchilado-style combinations.

Good food. The last couple of times I've been here it's been very tasty. I like any of the traditional mexican dishes. The salsa is great too. Not too hot for me but very tasty. Will be back.

Four generations of my family have been going to La Tapatia since 1972.   If you love authentic, honest-to-goodness Mexican food, you have got to love this place.  Granted, it's not in the best locale but don't let that get in your way.  All these years, it's never been a problem for us.

Their chile verde is some of the best I've ever eaten and their Chimichanga is out of this world!  And it is run by a wonderful family that treat you like company.  Give it a shot, by all means.
