Saturday night was the first time I have been to this restaurant. Like some others on here, I felt a bit underdressed by the decor. I was just in jeans. Maybe a polo shirt at least. There were only 2 other tables, shocking for 6pm on a Saturday, but the service and meal were excellent. The cheese manicotti was good for being a plain dish. (tubes, cheese and sauce) We also had the penne al ramano. It was very good with sauce and ground sausage. Service was professional and prompt. 3 waiters for 3 tables. The table next to us were obviously regulars, as they knew the waiters and owner by name. They ordered dessert as we arrived. The spumoni cake looked good and judging by how fast they ate it, I guess it tasted as good as it looked. One of the specials was a steak special, but $36 for an 18 ounce steak seems a bit much for me. Especially if sides are not included. Maybe I am stuck in a small town frame of mind where I expect a steak to be under $20 with all included. That aside, Little Italy was a very good meal and I will be returning soon.

I must say I missed judged this place, the decor is well done, artfully and classy- from the white table cloths to the paintings on the wall, the staff is in tuxedo shirts - very classy, the bar is kind of awkward as far as seating and when I walked in I wasn't greeted so I didn't know if I should seat myself or just stand there while other customers stared at me, so I went up to the bar and after about 5 min this guy greeted me from across the room, kinda awkward, he was nice enough, it was probably how I was dressed- just coming off the golf course. short pants and golf shoes, I would say a good place to go on a date.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in all of Kern County. The food is always excellent, the "specials" are creative and delicious, and the wine list is relevant to the food being served. The chef and his wife always recognize you and greet you as family. Don't pass up their Spumoni dessert cake -- simply amazing. This is the perfect restaurant for a quiet evening out, but not the place for a rowdy family blow-out.

After waiting 45 min. for any service, then waiting again for our food, the wait was not worth the wait. One of our orders was delivered to the table next to us, the man tasted it then told the server that it was not his. The server then brought it to our table and expected us to eat it. We sent the tasted one back and when it was returned it was the right order, but not good. We should go back, but probably will not.
