I've been to Mama Roomba once and loooooved it.  The atmosphere is charming and lively and the tapas menu lends for a fun dining experience with friends.  It is definitely time for a second visit!

Worst experience ever.  I'm assuming the staff treats walk-ins as dirt.  We've waited for 1 hr in the bar to be called.  We've politely asked the hostess the estimated waiting time a couple times within that hour.  I honestly heard every other party's name being called out.  An hour has past, and we've asked the lady once again, and she told us that she tried calling our name.  Thus, she gave our table to someone else.  This is BS b/c we came up to her 2-3 times and some how she couldn't even take the time to remember our face? It was ridiculous how she tried telling us that she called our party’s name.  Clearly, she was lying and there was no effort in her part to search for us. I must warn you, if you are a walk in, don't stay in the bar area and stare at the damn hostess face until they seat you.  B/C clearly; they lack something in the head.

“Mama Roomba kicks ass!” I thought to myself last night as I was enjoying some quiet time in the men's bathroom between courses. “That sirloin steak with the olive oil-garlic sauce on the side was phenomenal. And, those sweet potato fries were way better than I ever thought they would be!” I thought to myself “If Bakersfield had more places like Mama Roomba to entertain her tired huddled masses yearning to be set free from normative ‘any-town America’ B-town fare, this town would have half a chance at bein’ cool.” Just then I was jolted from my soliloquy by a sound rap on the door and a hearty “Do you need some help?” So I decided to cut short my visit and get some dessert and coffee.
