We've eaten here twice in the last couple of weeks and really liked the food.  It's very clean inside, including the bathrooms.  The first time we went was for lunch after church on Sunday.  They sat us in the large room where a singer was entertaining the very small collection of lunch-goers.  We could hardly hear ourselves talking and the singer didn't take a break the entire time we were there, which was about an hour.

The second time we went was for dinner mid-week.  It wasn't busy at all; too bad.  The food was really good.  We had a typical combination plate with ground beef tacos, rice, and beans.  The tacos were really interesting, a little 'sweetness' in the meat mixture, as well as chopped carrots.  Also tried the chile relleno; it was good too.

We've been looking for a new place to eat Mexican food; the old stand-bys just aren't that good anymore.   We'll definitely be coming back here!

I have driven by this place without a second thought. Just another wannabe Mexican food place. Man, was I wrong. This place is in the top 2 or 3 Mexican food places in Bakersfield. Absolutly delicious. Fernanda and Elizabeth are both top notch servers and everything about this place is perfect... I am now their biggest fan and have become a regular for dinner. They offer a lunch buffet, but I have not tried it yet.  It is next to the Dollar Tree that is in the building that used to be Stockdale 6 movie theater. That should tell you how old I am. Sort of like using Zody's as a referance... Anyway, try Rancho Grande. It will become your favorite too...

This is a nice hidden gem. From the outside this place looks like one of those hole in the wall joints that specialize in Monday Night Football and Bud Light.

This is a nice hidden gem. From the outside this place looks like one of those hole in the wall joints that specialize in Monday Night Football and Bud Light.

But the inside is bright, spacious and -- most importantly -- clean. The place has a nice tile decor and tons of seating.

The food is what really surprised me. I had the Chile Verde dinner and it was just the right level of spicy. The rice and beans were pretty standard but the chips and salsa were top knotch. And when we ordered a couple of beers they brought a bowl of lime slices that literally glistened they were so fresh.

The service was very good. The waiter was on top of everything but not annoyingly so.

There is a bar but its only a small part of the establishment and shouldnt detract from the dining experience, even on a weekend night.
