Not the fanciest Chinese place in B-field, but I'm a sucker for the old Rice Bowl. It's like stepping back in time for me--same specials are on the menu that I've been eating for 30+...
Not the fanciest Chinese place in B-field, but I'm a sucker for the old Rice Bowl. It's like stepping back in time for me--same specials are on the menu that I've been eating for 30+ years, and Rice Bowl is in what's left of Bakersfield's China town from way back when. Anyway, I just get the combo, with a side of Egg Foo Yon, and hot tea, and I'm good to go.

The Rice Bowl has to grow on you. If you simply order a #1 you will probably be disappointed. They have great dinners on the menue, you just have to find one you like. Shrimp-great; Chinse...
The Rice Bowl has to grow on you. If you simply order a #1 you will probably be disappointed. They have great dinners on the menue, you just have to find one you like. Shrimp-great; Chinse Chicken Salad the best. Best eggs foo yon in Bakersfield. Service has always been good for the past 50 years. The regulars know how to order. Or ask your waiter. A meue for all tastes

Sorry, I've never understood the appeal of this restaurant. I know it's a staple of Bakersfield culture but there are so many better places to get Chinese food.
