Located downtown next to Capistranos, Rockets is a little hole-in-the-wall independent coffee place. It's brand new, so it is still getting settled in and working on finding it's groove.

It's not clearly marked from the street yet, except for some vinyl letters from the home improvement store saying Rocket Coffee on the window. It's a very small space inside- maybe the size of my bedroom, but open and organized. The atmosphere is sparse black, but comfortable.  It also has an outdoor seating area in a gated dark courtyard area that didn't seem appealing to me despite my love of outdoor seating.

They have a limited section currently- all of your standard hot & cold espresso drinks as well as bottled & canned energy drink. They have no pastries or food- other than bags of chips.

I tried a Mocha Frappe for $4.00. It was probably the best iced blended mocha I have ever had (despite the very extreme brain freeze it gave me). It was just the perfect proportion of coffee to chocolate and it almost had a hint of malted flavor. I loved it and plan to go back for many more.

I understand that its claim to fame will be its plan to stay open late at night for the bar crowd. I can tell they have already invaded since they have a growing collection of flyers on display as well as local  t-shirts books and cds for sale.
