I've always loved this northeast treasure, which serves high-quality down-home food. I used to visit more often when I lived in the northeast but it's a bit of a drive for me anymore. My loss.



I found myself there again this week, having a quick dinner with a friend. I normally get any of the great pastas (my faves are the tortellini and the half and half, which is spaghetti and ravioli) but this time we split a pepperoni pizza. In this day and age when pizza is somewhat of a commodity, it's a great feeling to find something that really stands out, particularly if it's a simple one-topping pizza. The meat and sauce were a cut above the norm, and the hand-tossed crust was phenomenal: cooked perfectly and thin, yet still firm enough to hold the goods in your hand.



Great, attentive service. Oh, and some of the freshest bread you'll find in town.
