I have killed my taste buds with spicy food. Yet, I can always find more yummy spicier food that my taste buds will find delightful. The putanesca (sorry if misspelled) sauce is exactly that, I even smell it before I put it on my fresh just out of the oven (maybe microwave) bread, just so I can savor it a little more.
I have had better Italian, just not in Bakersfield. That is what keeps me going back.
The décor could use some updating, but I am not there to eat the décor.

Rosa's food has been consistently good since I have been there. Yes, they could upgrade their seats and chairs as other people have described, but in a way it adds some atmosphere as a "good ol place to eat". The servers are great. They did have this one server, (woman with blond hair), that was very rude, but we haven't seen her in awhile, so they must have let her go.
I don't think you will disappointed at Rosa's, so give it a go! The marinara sauce is great! Their french bread is fantastic also!

I used to really enjoy Rosa's for lunch when I worked on the East side, but the last few times I have been there have been disappointing.
The pizza is still very good, but the fettucine was awful! I am not sure why they changed the old recipe, but it was my favorite, and now I would rather got to Frugatti's or even Olive Garden ahead of Rosa's.
Too bad, too, because it's not a chain, and I'd rather support a mom-&-pop shop, but not with the food like this.
