It should be called The Bus Spot, my family and I stop in for their Monday daily menu special, fajitas and enchilada but they were not serving their special due to a bus of french tourist that was to arrive. When I spoke to the owner about this issues his response was "they do not like Mexican food" If we knew that they were not going to serve according to there menu we would have gone and maybe of came back other day, even if were posted at the door for all to take notice. So my family and i eat our dinner which was of fresh quality and left but, Who in there right mind doesn't like Mexican Food, Please !!

I enjoy the Garden Spot, particularly for Weight Watching options. There are plenty of salad choices, including the standard make-your-own buffet style, and a few prepared salads, too. They always have four or five soups; our favorite is the Basque Bean soup. The bread selection usually includes different muffins, breadsticks and corn bread, and it is generally quite tasty. I always enjoy the fettucine, and they also have marinara sauce. Frequently they have baked potatoes and/or yams, too. They have puddings and fruits for dessert, including several no-sugar options.
Service at the counter is usually very good, and friendly. At the table, it's hit and miss. Sometimes you have a worker on the floor who clears plates and brings refills, and sometimes not. It can be crowded for lunch, but I have always found a seat prettyy easily. In warm weather it's nice to sit on their patio.

I go to this place at least once a week. This place has the best salad bar I've ever seen. Let's go through this step by step. Walk in, grab your tray, and then the fun begins. But don't overdo it, because by the time you get to the register, you'll have too much stuff on your plate. But if you can't fit everything on your plate, don't worry, because it's all you can eat! Once you have your dream salad, grab a soup bowl and select from five or six different soups. Grab some bread, pasta, and a potato if you feel inclined. Pound down your soup and salad, but make sure you leave room for dessert; there is a lovely fruit bar, and I noticed that they are putting in a soft-serve ice cream machine in the near future. Also, the employees are very friendly and always make me feel welcome. Unless you dislike healthy food, I can't possibly imagine how anyone could dislike this place. In addition, if you don't have to the time to eat there, you can get a to-go box and still make your dream salad. They will also give you a large to-go cup so you don't miss out on the soup. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this establishment.

Located in a building on the corner of Truxtun and Oak, I've driven by the Garden Spot hundreds of times. Today, I finally tried it for lunch. It's a buffet style restaurant brimming with gorgeous veggies. The salad bar had high quality, fresh items and all of their noodle and potato salads looked homemade. I was happy to see they even have Bragg's Liquid Aminos (from my hometown of Santa Barbara) and plump & juicy tofu which is a big sign to me that it's a buffet focused on health and quality.
I love their selection of freshly made soups. The artichoke-mushroom soup was divine. They also offer a small selection of pasta and sauce, potatoes, breads, fruits and deserts.
I would recommend this place if you are looking for a hearty, healthy meal.
I had to omit a star from the rating since the dining area lacks atmosphere to me. It has all of the charm of a hospital cafeteria with pink, seafoam green and baby blue decor, a Thomas Kinkadesque mural and black iron outdoor light posts. It's saving grace are floor to ceiling windows that overlook a courtyard.
